I don’t even care why Karen was picked as the flower girl at this point. (Andrew wasn’t the ring bearer, so it wasn’t an attachment to the whole family.) I misremembered her as being bratty in this, but she was fully on board with Caroline stepping in. It’s ok to be disappointed especially on such short notice. She was even going to give her dress to Caroline so that she would be coordinated with the bridesmaids.
I liked the dress shopping at the mall scene even though Andrew was miserable and should have had a babysitter at home. Lisa told him to bring a book. He’s 4, maam. I appreciate brides who assign colors and let the party pick their own dresses. It’s expensive AF to be in a wedding party. Might as well get something that you could use again. The gang went to four stores: Karen’s Boutique, Finery Shoppe, Tiger Lily’s, and The Nutcracker. What are these mall store names, lol?
Ms. Colman’s family sounded a little sketchy. Her sister’s family lived across the country and couldn’t make it. Perfectly acceptable. Then they showed up on her doorstep unannounced and invited themselves to stay for a whole week. Then the brother-in-law walked Ms. Colman down the aisle when he wasn’t even supposed to be there. Her parents were there. Did she bump her dad? Had she been planning on walking alone? There is more to this story.
I just have to mention the terrible food that Lisa served at the party: onion dip, cheese, anchovies, and caviar. Everyone’s breath must have smelled so badly.
Karen didn’t even try to catch the bouquet. She was too tired. Plus, she was like “I’m already married.”
They got a really good deal on that cup. I’m thinking that it was something like
this. They paid like $65 total for the cup plus a rather long engravement.
Apparently wedding registries didn’t exist back then because Addie Sidney’s cousin got 16 toasters and 4 blenders at her wedding.
