Good point about Mallory. They really were never all that receptive to her, their "tests" were ridiculous and as it's been pointed out millions of times, no one else had to pass a test to join the BSC. They were just bullying her.

To bring up another point that I forgot to mention earlier about this book... I really enjoyed the Rowdowsky sitting chapters. I thought it was so sweet when Claudia explained to Jackie why she couldn't sculpt him (something about that sounded funny, anyway ;D) and he said it was okay. Then he gave her a hug and said he loved her. Jackie always seems like such a kind, big hearted little boy. I also got a good laugh out of Claudia crawling through the window to get him out of the bathroom ;D Reminded me of when she had to unscrew the bedroom door at the Perezzioso's because Jenny had locked herself in. ;D Those are some of my favorite Claudia sitting moments.

Mmm... I always feel kinda bad for jackie, cause the BSC groan when they have to sit for him, but he's a really sweet kid!

^ It always bothers me when they groan when they have to sit for Jackie or Jenny P the "brat". Neither of them seem that bad. I think it's just one of those things, though, where they make a big deal, maybe for dramatic effect, but don't really mind doing something. I know I do that a lot of times, too ;D

I've never really noticed them being mean about having to sit for Jackie. They all seem to take him in stride. They mention him being a "walking disaster" but I always got the impression that they think it's cute/funny. Jenny on the other hand, they pretty constantly audibly groaned when Mrs P called.

^^I think they always did the requisite eyeroll and pretending they were busy when it came time to sit for Jackie, but with Jenny P. it was either eew!! or the groan. But to be fair to Jenny, my niece and nephew (twins) are just as bratty--if not more so--than Jenny, and I'd groan too if my sister asked me to sit for them.

I think Jenny is a sweet kid, just very spoiled! MA handled her well, for some reason.

I just read this for the first time last night. I can't believe how crazy the girls were! Short-sheeting her bed, leaving nasty notes in her room, eating her food and hiding it so she can't find it later? I couldn't believe that Claudia didn't really react to any of those things. She was a bit mad, sure, but for the most part she shrugged it off. Ashley bothered me in this book. She's an interesting character, but I just don't buy the fact that a 13 year-old is really that dedicated to art. And she was totally condescending when she saw Claudia at the Rodowsky's. I did think it was cute that she sat with them in the cafeteria in the end, though. Even though Ashley isn't my favourite, it would've been nice to see her and Claudia interact a bit more over the series, even if was just here and there, talking about their latest art projects. But oh well. Did anyone else think it was a bit odd that Claud sculpted Jackie's head? I liked the idea of using Jackie as her model, but I found it a bit strange that she only did his head. The image of a clay head on display kinda freaks me out a little!

^ I guess I always pictured the sculpture like a marble bust or something, but it does sound funny that she "sculpted his head." ;D Ashley's rudeness also bugged me, which is why I wasn't sympathetic at all to her. She is better in Claudia Kishi Live From WTSO, though.

I found Ashley to be so annoyingly one-dimensional in this book. Who is that obsessed with one thing?

^ Totally agree, Ashley isn't the same character at all by the time Live from WSTO comes along. I didn't love her that much in either of the books, actually, but she was definitely more interesting in New Girl. As crazy as she was, I love how much she was moved by the fire hydrant. And aln, you're probably right about Jackie's head being a bust. For some reason that never occured to me - I just pictured his head! It's a weird image to have in mind! ;D ETA: Sitter-in-training at last! Yay!

I don't exactly like Ashley in WSTO (though I do think it's nice when she gives Claudia the candy bar. ;D) I just don't dislike her like I do in New Girl. She is so rude in that one to the Rowdowsky boys and I think she's the one who is rude to the BSC right from the start - looking down on them because they aren't "dedicated". Now I'm picturing Jackie's head in a mold of plaster. ;D Or on top of a statue of a Roman and the face is ..... Jackie's! ;D I will never be able to read this part the same again. congrats on being a SIT, fluffycakes! ;D

I don't think I really liked ANYONE in New Girl! Ashley was self-righteous and nasty, Claudia did reject her old friends and the BSC were just ridiculous - trashing Claudia's room that she allowed them to hang out in when she wasn't there because she dared to have a friend outside the club. Also, why were Claudia's parents okay with the arrangement? My parents would've thought it was pretty weird if four of my friends hung out in my room when I wasn't even home
