Maybe back in BSC era, when Claudia's outfits were deemed to be the greatest things ever, solid white swimmers were all the rage...

Like Charlotte, Mallory and Mary Anne, I was unathletic and would have hated being pushed into being in a sports festival if I didn't want to. A few years ago I made a mistake of being pushed into something I didn't want to do at a school sports day, which was swimming. I hate competitive swimming and I ended up making the biggest fool of myself at it. After that, I decided to not let myself be pushed into something like that again. It is true what Mary Anne says that sport is a thing that not everyone is good at but PE teachers and other students often force kids into Sports Day events anyway.

Is this the one where MA and Charlotte talk about not wanting to participate and do a lemonade stand instead? After reading Little Miss Stoneybrook and MA's Book, I always thought that MA would be a good one for Char to talk to about stage fright and for some reason, thought they did. Then I realized that I was thinking of this book and the no-sports thing, though.

^ Did she even win a gold medal? I think she did win first but can't remember for sure anymore. Maybe the title was because of the olympic connections. I always wonder (but always forget to check) if this book came out around the time that the summer games were in Atlanta.

Barcelona was 1992, so that'd be the one.

^ You're right. I have no idea when the books were published since I've just read some of the first ones for the first time. I don't keep track and always think that they were all probably during the late 90s. I loved how hard Andrew tried in this book. That is one of my favorite scenes - him running into Watson's arms then getting the award for most determined. ;D

Talk about spoliers! The title for this book was the stupidest title ever!!!!! Word. It should've been called "Go for it, Jessi" which was the little sentence on the cover. Would've made more sense.

^ That would have been better. Or maybe something saying "Jessi Tries Something New" (that exact phrase isn't catchy enough) Maybe "Jessi Swims for the Gold" just indicating that she tries but not giving away that she wins?

"Go for Gold, Jessi" is another good one.
"Jessi's New Challenge" maybe?

Or something cornball in the typical BSC fashion like Jessi's Big Splash! or something.

Maybe "Jessi Swims for the Gold" just indicating that she tries but not giving away that she wins? I like that title and I agree that the title for this book totally gives it away (like numerous others in this series). I didn't much care for this book (I don't care for most Jessi books), other than it was refreshing to see Jessi do something other than ballet, even though synchronized swimming is basically ballet dancing in the water.

I liked the fitness training. I'm surprised that all the kids just let Jordan boss them around, though.
