I never noticed that the Perkins girls disappeared until I saw this thread, but I guess they kind of did. Weird.

Does anyone know the last appearance on the Perkins girls?

I know they were mentioned in #89. Maybe AMM had a falling out with her friend. Or the kids got old enough to say "hey I don't want everyone to read about me as a 2 year old anymore."

I'm pretty sure AMM gives her a shout out in the back of "Graduation Day," so I don't think they hate each other or anything.

I'm going to be sent to BSC hell or at the very least BSC purgatory for saying this; but I couldn't stand the Perkins girls. Way too perfect. Yeah, I know the kids were based out of Ann's friend's kids; but come on. I mean even Karen is written more realistically. She's very intelligent and creative and protective of her brother; she is also incredibly bossy and high strung. The Perkins girls are not only best at everything, they are incredibly sweet kids and are so unbelievably good ALL the time. I think I need therapy for my Perkins girls hate.

My biggest problem with them was that Gabbie was incredibly unrealistic for a 2 1/2 year old. One of my closest friends has a daughter around that age who is an incredibly smart, precocious little girl but nothing like Gabbie in terms of what she does.

I wonder if the actual Perkins girls were as ridiculously advanced as their book counterparts. It would be kind of sad if, like, the actual Myriah can't cook even though BSC Myriah made chocolate chip cookies without a recipe at the age of five.

I loved the Perkins girls. I think they may be my favorite charges... I know Gabbie was pretty unrealistic, but I loved the "Toshe me up!" and how she called everyone by their first and last names, especially "Claudie Kishi."

It's in Claudia and the Great Search, where they make green chocolate chip cookies by adding food coloring. I always liked that scene, but yeah it was pretty ridiculous. Myriah was just throwing ingredients in and occasionally tasting the batter and they supposedly came out great in the end. Even Karen couldn't do that. In Karen's Tea Party her cookies turn out like crap when she tries baking by herself. All gooey and runny.

OT but Karen's Tea Party? is that when she takes manners classes or whatever?

Yep, that's the one. Mr. Peabody's School of Dance and Charm.

^Oh I LOVED that book as a kid!! It was one of my favorites, along with the one where Nancy's mom has a baby. I need to find that at a thrift store or something.
