I love the Perkins girls! They're actually realllly similar to the girls I babysit for in real life (who are 2.5 and 5, VERY talkative and smart, take ballet/tap and are excellent singers who know the words to a lot of songs). I never thought they were unrealistic. I was just like the Perkins girls when I was a kid too.

I love the Perkins girls! Gabbie reminds me of my littlest sister. She was smart, talented, and talkative even at one and a half years old. Of course, she was wasn't PERFECT but nobody is (well, except for the Perkins girls, that is

The Perkins girls annoyed me too Mary Sue especially myriah. It was like Liz Wakefield in Sweet Valley. It was almost ridiculous that Mariah was so perfect at everything and seemed so matute and advanced compared to the other kids. She was the same age as Claire Pike yet Claire was still saying silly billy goo goo I think suzie was the same age and she seemed younf too

I love the Perkins girls! I like to think Laura would grow up to be a little different from her talanted sisters.

I can imagine Laura not being as perfect as her older sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Perkins would push Laura so hard to be as talented as Mariah and Gabbie and, eventually, they would learn that Laura is her own person.

I don't think the parents necessarily pushed the older two to be great humans. They had the means to let the girls pursue a wide variety of interests. I guess Laura may be different in that the trendy activities for kids might be different than what her sisters did when she hit that age.

Also, I feel that the fact that Ann actually knew these girls made it easier to develop their interests and skills, based on what the real-life Perkins girls were into. Additionally, I don't think she wanted to explore the "bad sides" of these girls' personalities because they - and their families - would be reading the books. A definite bias here, as we've discussed.

We know that the real Myriah works in theater professionally, so maybe their precociousness has a basis in reality.

I thought, I already follow Ann M. Martin, on facebook page. But, they said, I wasn't. I must accidentally unlike the page. Anyways, I only see Gabbie's bridal showers, in the album section.
