The only Watson I've heard of is from Sherlock Holmes.

^ I had forgotten about him. Maybe that's why I always think of Watson Brewer as being kind of serious in a nice way because I think of Sherlock saying "my dear Watson." ;D Thinking of that makes me really want the new Sherlock Holmes computer game....

Maybe it was another case of Ann naming a character after an actor/literary character/tv character.

^ Never thought of that but you might be right. She seems to do that a lot and just doesn't seem all that creative with names, anyway. Just noticed the links at the bottom are for Sherlock stuff now ;D

I wonder what would happen if somebody clicked where it says "Click here to make this board ad-free."

^ ;D I'm sure it wouldn't work. Would probably put more ads on. That's what usually happens. Or they would somehow get your e-mail and start flooding your box with junk

I wouldn't want that to happen.

Ad-Free Our ad-free service is a monthly service offered at $7.00 per 50,000 pageviews per month. If you have not read full details about our ad-free plan, we encourage you to read all the details (takes about 2 minutes to read).I figured it might be something like that, but $7 a month seems pretty steep. Another board that I frequent has a similar option, but it's a one-time fee. Besides, without ads, you'd lose the humor of ads that the Google algorithm thinks are related to the content of the page, like the current ones: "Watson Car," and "Dale Watson Ringtones."

Dale Watson Ringtones?! Why didn't anyone tell me about this before? I am so there! ;D

I love how "Are you romantic?" always comes up when I'm looking at the thread for the Pike parents.

^ ;D Wonder why ;D As for Watson, I thought he was really sweet in the LS books about Boo Boo's death. I know I posted that on the LS board but wanted to mention it here, too. I enjoyed reading about how he cared so much about Boo Boo. Also thought it was nice how he thanked Seth for making Boo Boo a cross. I think both Seth and Watson behaved in a very "adult" way at the cat funeral and that set a good example and made things better for the kids.

^Watson and Seth are just plain awesome, in my opinion. ;D I have just ordered Karen's Black Cat and Karen's Movie Star from Amazon. I can't wait to read them!

Read two mentions of Watson’s parents – I think both were in Sad Goodbye but am not positive. (I don’t feel like going downstairs right now to check my copy ;D) One says something about Kristy showing pictures of Emily (shortly after they got her) with “Watson’s mom” and the other says that Claudia doesn’t know how Kristy feels about Watson’s parents but that Nannie’s husband is dead and she rarely sees her dad’s parents. So, Watson’s parents are either still alive or it’s an inconsistency/oversight in that book. I prefer to think the latter because otherwise, I start wondering where they are, why they are never mentioned, why Watson has the house, etc.

I've always thought Watson's parents were dead. In Karen's Book (which I just finished reading ;D) Karen says Watson's father died before she was born, but Grandma Brewer was at the hospital to see her granddaughter. I guess she died somewhere along the line as well, or otherwise why wouldn't they mention her?

No way, Karen wouldn't have set that grandmother record in Karen's Grandmothers if Watson's mother weren't still alive. I posted about it somewhere else on the board, wondering why Watson had the house if his parents were still alive, and I think the general consensus was that his father was deceased and his mother had probably retired to Florida or a small apartment or basically anywhere Karen wasn't and didn't want all the upkeep on such a large house anymore.
