I agree with hitzpink. The Cokie in that picture totally has Mallory hair. I would think it was Mallory if the girl in the picture had glasses. I don't think Cokie looks like that at all. I don't picture her as looking exactly like Marla Sokoloff did in the movie, but I do think movie-Cokie looks a lot more like the Cokie I picture in my head than the Cokie in this illustration does.

Marla Sokoloff was definitely a good representation of Cokie. When I was younger I always pictured Cokie as a blonde and Grace Blume as a brunette for some reason.

I've always pictured Cokie with dark auburn hair and Grace as a redhead, so their movie representations work well for me.

For some reason I always pictured Cokie with big hazel eyes and dark hair. And that you can tell right away from one look at her that she was angst-filled and bitchy.

I imagined Cokie to look like a young Melissa Fox, from the Sweet Valley Senior Year series. Her picture on one of the covers is exactly how I imagine Cokie.

Wow that's not how I'd picture Cokie at ALL. I think movie Cokie is a good representation of how I picture her. She really does look very Mallory-esque in that picture :/

I love Cokie! When I was little, I hated her. In the movie, when she called the BSC members Girl Scouts...as an insult? b*tch pissed my newly-flown-up-from-Brownies-self off. (Yeah, I was a loser.) But when I reread Starring the BSC, her chapter was one of my favorites. I love when she realizes that Kristy got the part Jessi wanted and is like, "There's going to be trouble in the baby-sitting club."
I'd have to agree with whoever said the BSC exaggerated Cokie's stupidity. She corrects Grace at one point in the chapter, and I'm not sure we were supposed to think Grace was an idiot, just Cokie. Also, Jessi's uppity addendum to Cokie's notebook entry was great.
Marla Sokoloff was a great choice for movie Cokie, IMO. The movie casting was really hit-or-miss, I thought -- they had a great Stacey, and Mallory was fantastically dorky, but Alex Mack? Was no Dawn. Go back to zapping rays of electricity and trying to get Katarina to start dating.

In a way, I kind of felt like Cokie really wanted to be in the BSC.

She just seemed so desperate to make their lives miserable that she just seemed kind of jealous. Why would she hate the bsc so much? She couldn't have had THAT big of a crush on Logan; SMS had a ton of available guys. Even after she started dating Brent she was still jerky to the BSC. They were the seven best friends we'll ever have, and all she had was Grace and a rotating cast of other unimportant friends. The BSC were the cliquiest clique of all cliques, for real. They don't just become friends with people naturally; they vote on whether or not to let them in. And if they have 7 girls from SMS plus 2 associates already, well, there's just no room for you.

Cokie really was a backstabbing little tart wasn't she? Grace was the one that liked Logan. So what was she doing going after him?
I wouldn't say that Cokie wanted to become a bsc member...In an odd way it seemed more like she wanted them to be mates.

^She also apparently married and divorced Alan Gray during that eighth grade year. What a sl*t.

Cokie and Grace either BOTH liked Logan, or it was another inconsistency to put in our thread. Oh, and Mary Anne's head looks funny in that picture. I've always thought so. I also pictured Cokie being prettier than that.
