What are your thoughts on her?

I've never liked her. She always seemed way too strict and controlling. I loved it how Daddy Ramsey stood up to her in Happy Holidays, Jessi - thought she was a real pain in that one. She seems to think she runs things in the Ramsey house and I wish Jessi's parents would have stood up to her more often. She's okay a few times but usually I really dislike her.

ITA. The more I think about it, the more Aunt C. Reminds me of Aunt Gertrude in the Hardy Boys books. They're both annoying harpies that move in with their brother's families and take controll of the household. And both families let them get away with it!

Never made that connection but you're right! I never liked Aunt Gertrude, either, or Hannah in the Nancy Drew series. They always seem so worried and act like little old ladies. How old are they supposed to be, I wonder (probably younger than my parents ?

I never liked her. She was so over-bearing! Did she never have children of her own? She was HORRIBLE with kids.

Didn't she have a grown son?

^ I think she did. And I agree with what has been said above. I think it would be really weird for kids to have a new adult in the house and just have to listen to them and respect that they have a saying over you.

I agree with all of you guys. Aunt Cecelia was WAY too strict and controlling, especially considering it wasn't her house and they weren't her kids! I hate to think about Aunt Cecelia babysitting Squirt everyday. She seems like the type to try to put a small baby on a schedule and leave the poor thing crying alone in his crib for an hour because "it's time for his nap."

She has a grown son? Yet she's Jessi's dad's sister? I know there can be large age differences, but what the hell? Is her son like, the same age as his Uncle John?! Weird.

When they said grown I assumed like 18 and away for college or something :/ I'm not sure though, is his age ever mentioned? I may be wrong about all this.

He was metioned in Jessi's big break, his name is Michael, he lives in NY and recently got married, he used to be an artist, but decided to go a different route, although Cecelia wanted him to follow his dreams. I liked Cecelia in this book.

Aunt Cecelia always drove me nuts. She seemed like the aunt from Hell. When Mr. Ramsey told her off, I was really happy, although it was REALLY weird to see her loosen up, it was really out of character.

Did she ever really loosen up? I think there might have been one book where I liked her okay but most of the time, I cringed when I saw her name.

In my opinion She loosened up briefly in "Happy holidays Jessi" right before the car accident. It seemed REALLY forced and unnatural though. I cringed as well, when I saw her name, she was defiantly one of the most annoying characters.
