Kristy + Bart had a weird ending, it does almost seem like Kristy regrets they broke up but isn't sure she was wrong to do so, it's very open-ended for what may happen next.

I actually see Kristy and Bart having a brief fling in high school, but also having several dating partners with kids they had not met.
I see them both being among one of the first of their groups to become sexually active in high school maybe by senior year.
Ohhh, the wondrous possibilities in high school, especially with all the new classmates, new teachers and puberty and expanding horizons!!!
No wonder I love high school films like Teachers, Fast Times ay Ridgemont High, Michelle and Romy's High School Reunion and She's All That.
