^ I liked Shannon's story too. I never did like the fact that they were trying to get Tiffany to be more sociable - like they were doing her such a big favor by letting her help with the lemonade stand. She was fine the way she was.

Yeah poor, misunderstood Tiffy. She just wanted to hang out in her garden.

I wish we got to know more about Shannon, as a kid reading the books I always wondered about her. I've never got a hold of her story, I'd like to read it someday.

I just got my copy of the "Complete Guide" and it says that two clients "might" have crushes on her (I think Buddy Barrett and Shea Rodowsky?). I thought that was cute--maybe it was just because they saw her less often, but she must have been quite the cutie with her little ski jump nose. I always liked her a lot--I related to her overacheiving drive and her academic interests, and I thought Stoneybrook Day School sounded pretty cool. And I also always thought it was fun to get her perspective on things, even if it was a mundane baby-sitting job (I also always got a kick out of seeing Logan sit).

I like Shannon. I think she is interesting because of her home life. All of the other sitters had pretty great families but Shannon's family was kind of sucky. She seemed more balanced than the other sitters but that's probably because she didn't devote her life to the BSC and we saw less of her.
I had hoped that there would be a book or two about her when she became associate member for the Dawn in CA period.

I'm not sure if it's because the others had ideal home lives (they complained enough about them!), but it's just that Shannon didn't seem as whiny. She was kind of, "Well, my parents aren't exactly happy, and this is the way it is". Shannon's Story is actually one of my favourite books. I'm annoyed that she only got one reader's request and Logan got two.

I think she's pretty in her picture in Babysitters Remember also. I really like Shannon.

Yeah, I thought Buddy's crush on her was cute. Did any clients have crushes on any of the others? Hmm...maybe they know them too well.

In Stacey's Ex-Best Friend, there are a few crushes and blushes amongst the charges, and I think there might be a few in Kristy and the Sister War as well. Apart from those two subplots, where the kids go to dances or have Valentine's Day, I think it's all platonic.

I have been rethinking my opinion on Shannon after reading a few books that she’s featured in. She seems like a brat. I always thought I liked her because I can relate to being a high achiever and liking school but I don’t care for her attitude the more I see of it. I also think that Kristy gives her too much leniency (compared to what she gives the other girls) at the meetings. Sometimes I almost get the impression that she’s a little intimidated or something by Shannon. Not sure if that is what it is, exactly, but it’s like she feels like she has less authority over her.

Marnie had a crush on jessi. I am not sure what book they mention it in.

I remember that mention, too, and always thought it was a very strange way to put it.... Back to the topic of Shannon, anyone have any thoughts on her and Kristy's relationship and how it differs from Kristy's relationship with the other girls? Any other thoughts on Shannon's personality?

I agree with you about Shannon, aln. Well, I've never thought about the Kristy thing, but I agree with you about her personality in general. I think I went off about that in the Shannon's Book thread... she seems like a spoiled brat to me and it baffles me that so many BSC fans like her so much. Maybe Kristy is intimidated by her because Shannon is one of the few people who isn't intimidated by Kristy. I mean when they first meat, Shannon is the one making Kristy squirm in her shoes, not the other way around.
