I like Mallory. I feel sorry for her because it seems like she got the short end of the stick a lot of the time (just look at the Ann hates Mal thread).

I have to like Mallory. She is so sweet and doesn't engaged in BSC fights along with Jessi. She will grow into a beautiful person inside and out. I wish people weren't so d**n mean to her. Just because she isn't bold and boisterous as the rest, they think it's an excuse to make her life miserable.

Sometimes Mallory scored on the covers. She looked pretty good in some, whereas on others, it was a total bomb.

Where do you find the Ann Hates Mal thread, Anzuhana? I tried using the search feature to find it but both Ann and Mal were removed from the search for being too short.

The oldest of a bazillion kids, the only one with curly red hair and braces (therefore, in BSC land, ugliness), Mallory had it rough. She was the BSC scapegoat. Mallory and Jessi came along to fill roles. The blondes were taken -- Stacey and then Dawn (who had to look different than Stacey with longer, lighter hair). MA and Kristy are the brunettes. Soo those were taken. Mallory fits the redhead, and let's make her nerdy to reach a broader audience. Claudia is Japanese, so that's great, but we need to add in a black girl to really balance it out... ... and TA-DAAAA! That's the BSC formula for ya

I'm kind of like a male version of Mallory, except that I'm Asian. Like her I wear glasses and can be very quiet and insecure about myself. I really love her a lot.

What are some of the other seasons you like Mal, shannon? I would love to hear them!

We both love books and hope to become authors and illustrators one day, and we both can be really embarrassed being in front of a crowd. I just like Mallory a lot.

I think there's a little bit of Mallory in all of us, whether we want to admit it or not!

I can relate to Mallory a lot. I was good at sports, and I stood up for myself when I had to. But I had the frizzy hair and glasses and felt ugly. I still feel ugly to this day, even though I'm 27. I got bullied a lot as a kid for being ugly. I now wear contacts and I straighten my hair but my face still isn't the best. As a kid I loved reading and writing as well. When I read about the books at eleven, I felt like I could really understand how she felt and how she wanted to look good around the older girls. I was actually good at a lot of stuff, but back then I just didn't realize it. So like Mallory, I actually felt mediocre, and it didn't matter how much my friends pointed out that I was good at stuff. All I could see myself as was this extremely hideous girl. I was bullied pretty much from the age of eleven to my early 20s about my face. So even now, when I am older I still feel extremely insecure about my looks. I just don't put as much emphasis on them as I did when I was younger. I can kind of see Mallory being like me into adulthood. She likely carried her insecurities as she grew older as well.

I hope you feel better about yourself now. I was also bullied when I was younger about my looks, but then I grew into my looks, much like they say Mallory would. I have a strong nose and Mallory does too, and I think it looks odd when you're a gawky preteen/teenager. But now I'm fine with my looks and even my nose. I will contour it with makeup, but I feel fine without makeup too.
