I want to play Chinese Whispers now, I haven't played it in ages - I always cracked up so bad at tired carrots take the blame! Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls was my favourite though, I love mystery type ones. I had a duplicate so I defaced one of them by cutting a big chunk out of the middle to make a hollow book to keep cigarettes and other things in when I was 13. Of course the other copy ended up going into storage and now I have none I want to go back and strangle my 13-year-old self...

^How did you fit a pack of cigarettes in a BSC book?! I kept mine in my car, or my book bag, or in my underwear drawer. My friend kept hers in her panties. I really didn't want to bum them from her.

My favourite is the one that started it all!! But the other three are right behind it. Its hard to pick. the first four are some of the best in the series I think.

MA Saves the Day was the first book I read, so I have a lot of sentimental attachment to it. I also just related to Mary Anne so much more than any of the others, and there were a lot of little details I liked--her dad comes and asks what she's reading, that they say grace before dinner, Mary Anne's description of her room, and so on. And I do enjoy the beginning of her friendship with Dawn, and of course, time with Mimi.
My second choice is probably The Truth About Stacey, although it's hard for me to remember my original reactions now, because rereading it as an adult with a chronic, difficult to treat condition really helped me connect more with Stacey. And I will always love Kristy's date with Winston Churchill.

^ I always forget about Kristy's date with Winston Churchill. ;D I have the same thoughts on MA Saves the Day and on not remembering original impressions on Truth About Stacey because I don't actually remember reading it as a kid.

Haha! That's a good way to stop people bumming off of you...I think I just kept loose cigarettes/joints in my BSC book and lighters. (I got the hollow book idea from Troop Beverly Hills, btw). It does smell of weed. Oh Claudia, I'm so sorry!!

I dont think it's called Telephone cause the US is so PC... Because the 80's wasn't exactly PC...I just think that it is called that, like Jumpers and Sweaters. It's always been Chinese Whispers everywhere else, that i know of.
And I really cant choose between the first four! I think maybe #2 and #4...

I chose Mary Anne Saves the Day. It's always been one of my favorites. I really loved that Mary Anne stood up for herself. I also liked all of the conflict and where she met Dawn.

I chose Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls. I really liked that book. My 2nd choice would be MA Saves The Day.

My favorite BSC book is Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls (probably because it was the one that got me hooked on BSC in the first place), but I have realized how much I enjoyed EVERY one of these ones. I liked the Babysitter's Agency in the Truth About Stacey, how Mary Anne stood up to everyone including her father in Mary Anne Saves the Day, and of course the beginning of it all! I also like #5 a lot too.

I picked The Truth about Stacey. Mary Anne saves the Day was a close second.

I love the first four, except for Phantom Phone Calls. I hate all BSC books that deal with Halloween and/or "scary" plots.

^ I don't care for Phantom Phone Calls either (the girls seem too foolish ;D) but really liked the other three, even though they "feel" different than the rest of the series.
