Digigirl, in Stoneybrook anything is possible where time/age is concerned! On the Cover of Dawn's Big Move, Kristy is holding a pencil (in her right hand ) and a red notebook?. On the Cover of the next book, Jessi and the Bad Baby-sitter, Kristy in sitting in Claud's Directors Chair at the BSC Meeting, holding a similar looking brown notebook. Both look neither like a binder or spiral. They could be oversized spiral type notebooks without the spiral binding. My point is, I wonder if those books are supposed to be either the Record or Notebook? Maybe both. And what a mistake on the artist part having the pencil be in Kristy's right hand.

Could be. It's sort of like how in Kristy's Portrait a big deal was made out of her playing Shortstop but later on she stated as being in a different fielding position.
Did any of the movies (VHS Tapes) show the BSC at a Meeting?

I wouldn't think too deeply about what's on the covers. I'm sure Hodges didn't give a hoot what the notebooks were supposed to look like.
Zoar3, yes I think there were meetings shown in most of the VHS episodes. I'll have to pull one out and see what they used as a notebook in one of them.

I think the girls discussed needing more filler paper for the notebook at least once in the books, which made me think that their notebooks were three ring binders that they just added paper to until they were full. I wonder where the notebooks were stored? There must have been a lot of them, after 15 years of sitting jobs.

Aww, I like to think that no one hated each other! LOL, let me keep dreaming ;D None of them did...otherwise, they would not be in the BSC. Once in a while, like any other 'family' of long-time close friends, they had their share of arguments, but that didn't mean that any of them 'hated' each other. Fights do not have to mean the end or permanent damage to a friendship.

In Stacey and the Cheerleaders, Jessi helps Stacey with her cheerleading routine. That was an interesting combination to me, especially since it was the beginning of Stacey being too cool for school. Stacey was never 'too cool' for school...even when she TEMPORARILY hung about the cheerleaders, she never let her grades drop. Even when she TEMPORARILY left the BSC, she never completely turned her back on them and she RETURNED to her LOYAL BSC friends after a few books.

Kristy and Dawn? Secretly hated each other. IMO ;D I think that too. The cover of Farewell Dawn with Kristy grinning as Dawn is getting on the plane further proves that theory ;D. I think it's because Kristy knows that Dawn will be back...not because she secretly 'hated' Dawn. It does get tiresome when some people imply that some of the BSC secretly 'hated' each other...that's more of the nonsense that would go on in Sweet Valley...not the BSC.

I agree you CAN have more than one best friend. There is nothing wrong with that. About Jessi directing Kristy to Mary Anne: you would think that Jessi and Kristy could talk about anything. Regardless of the 2 year age difference. Most definitely! It's always better to have more than just ONE best friend...it's never a good idea to be dependent on just one person for companionship.

I always thought the idea of everyone being equally good friends with each other to be a little unrealistic. They all tie in together nicely, but some inevidably are closer than others. The only one I think in some ways is a little out of place is Jessi. Would she be friends with anyone else except Mallory if not for the BSC? Would she have even been asked to join had Mallory not been recruited in the way she was? Yes...because she had several things common with the BSC.

I think they are a close group of friends, but some of them just wouldn't really hang out one on one without a reason. Would Stacey call up Jessi to go malling? Would MA call up Abby to come over and play with Tigger (minus allergies, lol). Nope. But I did like the odd friendships, I.e, Mal and Stacey. I actually think they would...maybe Stacey and Jessi not 'malling,' but Stacey often admired Jessi's dance fashions. And I think they were both good in science...Stacey had other interests outside of clothes and shopping. I can see Mary Anne, Abby and Anna hanging out together occasionally. True that maybe due to geographical locations, Claudia, Mary Anne and Stacey would see each other more often...ditto Kristy and the Stevenson twins...ditto Mallory and Jessi...but that would not preclude them from spending time with others or being loyal to others in the group.
