I do some gross things with food too so I won't talk too much, either I just thought that Claud sounded like a preschooler - pouting over eating her vegtables (but this is coming from a person who actually likes spinach and broccoli

Elaborating more on the Dunkin Donuts thing, we have them here in the midwest, but it seems like they're slowly being replaced with Krispy Cremes. Come to think of it, I can't remember when I last saw a Dunkin Donuts place.

A lot of the Dunkin Donuts around here (Ohio) are actually Dunkin Donuts AND Baskin Robbins together. Mmmm...sugar high.

Yeah, we've the combos, too. Ice cream and doughnuts all at once? God bless the person who thought up THAT idea!

In Kristy and the Worst Kid Ever, Stacey actually brought her own apple to a club meeting. Shocking! At the same meeting, Claudia offered everyone Frosted Flakes. I thought that was weird. I know people eat cereal dry, but it's pretty expensive and would be kinda hard to smuggle a box up to her room.

I can't imagine how many crumbs must be ground into the carpet of Claud's room.

My mom is always yelling at me for getting crumbs all over the kitchen so she would have a really fun time running one of those little carpet sweepers or her mini vacuum (which she chases me around with in Claudia's room. I had never thought of this but you are so right ktag - and the thought of the mess is so gross.

This thread made me so hungry. It was resourceful too because half of the junk food Claudia ate, i.e. Ring dings I never had heard of!

See, I was doing fine reading this thread until I got to the Milky Ways. Then I overcame that, but...meat loaf, peas and mashed potatoes? Best. Dinner. Ever. Well, maybe not the best, but it's up there!
Also, the strawberry festival sounded awesome. I went to a tomato festival once, but that was far less delicious than a strawberry festival.

Glad someone else thinks that food like meat loaf and peas and potatoes is the best - though I prefer the combo of meat loaf, french green beans and baked potatoes and like peas with pork steak or baked chicken and mashed potatoes (those are the main dishes at my house since dad's heart surgery but I don't mind. Much prefer them to Claudia's sugar overload.) The things that always make me hungry in the books are mentions of pizza and cheeseburgers, though.

ooh the pizza's ALWAYS made me crave a cheese pizza really bad, almost as much as the cheese pizza in the Home Alone movies makes me want one.

Another food topic... it grossed me out in one of the Claudia books where she was mashing her peas to make them go with her mashed potatoes. Remember when Dawn said she used to have a parakeet named Buzz who once flew into a bowl of mashed potatoes?

Hee! I'd forgotten about Buzz. That's hilarious. He sounded like fun...but then, I've always wanted to have birds.

I can't imagine how many crumbs must be ground into the carpet of Claud's room. Seriously. Seven girls snacking in there three times a week, food hidden all over the room, art supplies everywhere...Kristy was a perfectionist, wouldn't she ever complain that headquarters was too messy/crowded/unbusinesslike?
