Ah I just always crave pizza when they eat it and feel very hungry and jealous when they eat it... until I relaise what they've put on the pizza and it kinda puts me off :s

^ I always really want the pizza, too. That and cheeseburgers. I always just try to picture the pizza as having Pepperoni or maybe ham and Pineapples on it. But might even be willing to try anchovies - never had them but they don't sound too bad.

The hoagies they eat at the slumber party in Poor Mallory sound good. So do the oreos they have at the Delaneys

^^Now that I think about it, "hoagies" would be the wrong term geographically, which can be attributed to AMM's Princeton upbringing. They're usually called hoagies in Philly, heros or subs in NY, and grinders in MA.

^ I've had discussions on other boards about the proper names for those sandwiches, and it seems like most of the discrepancy is in East Coast areas. Here (Seattle), most people call them subs.

^ Whatever they are, they still sound good ;D In MI they are called either subs or hoagies. Hoagies are usually what people around here call shorter, wider subs.

This meal may have been mentioned already, but anyway. I'm in the middle of Dawn's Family Feud right now and the family goes out for Mexican food. Enchiladas, chips/salsa, burritos, etc. Shut up Dawn, just cause you might have beans in it instead of meat doesn't make that stuff healthy. Plus she said they had fried ice cream for dessert, and then they go to the movies after dinner and Jeff buys buttered popcorn and some candy. Maybe Dawn was just thrilled to have Jeff home for a visit, but she didn't seem bothered at all and movie theater popcorn is the fattiest stuff ever. That sounds like an awesome night of food though.

^ Dawn's opinion towards food seems to differ with each book. ;D Does sound like a good meal, though

they seem like they eat Mexican a lot - esp when they go to the mall. Yick, I seriously can't stand Mexican food. my office goes out for Mexican all the time and when I go I come back feeling like the grossest blob ever. I can't imagine Dawn liking it (and those beans she's eating are probably re-fried in animal fat anyway. Ew, ick)

Yeah, but I think what Mexican food that's described in the books can be more considered Tex-Mex or Cal-Mex food. Mexico is a big country with diverse cuisines, and what you'd get in Mexico may bear little resemblance to what you get in the U.S.

^ No matter where it came from, it sounded tasty ;D And we don't have to worry about how healthy it is when we are just reading about it, that's the best part ;D
