I feel the same way with disliking Haley after reading Little Liar. My favorite part of that book is where Stacey has to play basketball and Kristy is blowing the whistle at her ;D That reminds me of another subplot/chapter I like when Claudia and Stacey try to coach the Krushers (I think it's Kristy for President or Copycat).

Did you guys ever picture it as looking like a particular mall you knew? I always pictured it as looking like Mic Mac Mall in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Yeah, I pictured Washington Mall looking like my local mall, Southlake Mall because that funky punk store they used to go to sometimes (Zingy's Zangy's idk, it's something that starts with a Z lol) reminds me of the Spencers at my mall and the place where Mal and Jessi get their ears pierced reminds me of Claire's. My favorite subplot was in Poor Mal, with the Delaney's and their swimming pool. I envied that and their tennis courts so much.

For some reason, I always get the Washington Mall confused with Bellairs in my mind and picture both of them as the malls near where I live, which are nothing spectacular. ;D I just read the Heritage Day subplot in Secret in the Attic and really enjoyed that one. I loved reading about Charlotte's family history, all of the projects the kids were doing and the scene where the BSC was making the cut outs.

^ Glad to know I'm not the only one ;D I've never been to the Mall of America (almost went one time but decided against it at the last minute) but it sounds massive - almost like an amusement park. I never got the impression that Washington was anything even close but maybe that's just because seeing it as a smaller mall fits better with what I'm familiar with

^ I really like that one, too. In fact, that whole book is my favorite and the one that got me started with reading the BSC. ;D I think the subplot was one thing that made me like it so much.

They have a roller coaster (it's kind of slow because it takes you around the whole amusement park but it's still fun) and a log ride plus like 5 million stores. Last time I was there I went to this huge bookstore and found MA's Book

^ Now I really wish I would have gone ;D My cousins went a long time ago and all I remember them talking about is that the one bought a stuffed Snoopy for his "girlfriend" (he was like 9 at the time ;D) I always thought that was cute and for some reason, it reminds me of the BSC books and something one of the charges would do.

Most of them do, but I somehow just kept picturing Bellair's as a small mall no matter how much I told myself that it was a department store lol.

Actually, I'm not sure if they would be considered department stores but some of what I think are considered department stores near me are only one story. Of course, they are also just stores in malls, which is probably why I can't visualize Bellair's as anything except a small mall. After all, the malls I'm used to are probably the same size as it ;D

^ Marshall Fields, Sears, Penneys, Yonkers (not sure if those are all even Dept stores as I'm kind of a "Kristy" when it comes to shopping ;D) in several small malls in towns like Benton Harbor and Holland. In some of the other local malls, they are two stories but the whole malls in places like Holland and BH are just one story. They are not very good malls at all ;D
