^ Sugaring was what Kristy suggested for the Fall Festival in Worst Idea. Sap is used to make maple syrup (I think ;D) and maple products like that. I'm pretty sure they do a lot of it up north in MI (I might be wrong on this though) and VT is a big state for maple sugar and syrup. All I know about sugaring, I learned from the Little House books. ;D

^yep... they did it at my high school. basically you drill a hole in a tree and attach a plastic bag and collect the sap. then you boil it.

^ That's cool you did it at your high school. I always wanted to try it but it has to be done when it's too cold out for me. ;D

^my high school was 600 acres and had several forests, a farm, and a huge lake it was boarding though.

^ Sounds like a nice place (except the boarding thing wouldn't have worked for me. ;D) I probably could have done sugaring in school, too, since my school had several acres and woods - I was homeschooled for a while. ;D

Kristy's sugaring plan was absolutely Claudia-caliber in how moronic it was: buy maple syrup, dilute it with water, then reduce it over a flame to produce syrup.

that is so lame. I am disappointed in Kristy.

Yeesh, just contemplating Kristy's method of sugaring made me even more delighted that it fell through. If someone in a group suggested we did that I'd just stare blankly. They would perhaps explain it again, as if I hadn't heard them. I would continue to stare blankly. And then I would slowly shake my head in such a manner to convey the sheer NO-ness of my answer.

I think my very favorite subplot is when Andrea is born in MA vs Logan. I just read it this morning and it is so adorable. I love both girls, anyway. I enjoyed reading more about Mr. (and Mrs. ;D) P and thought it was very realistic how Jenny was extremely jealous, they tried to bribe her, but then she fell in love with Andrea on her own.

I don't remember which book it was but one of my favourites was when all the members of the Pike family where ill or wounded. Other ones: * Jessi who makes" the vulcano with Jackie * Vanessa's crush in "Mary Anne and too many boys * When Karen, Andrew and the other children play the game "Kom maar binnen allemaal" (I really don't know what it is in English ) In that game they are disguised in the people of a hotel, understand what I mean? Karen's fantasy is just so funny ;D * ...
