^I sure hope not. All this Scott talk reminds me of this mid 20's guy that lived in my mostly freshman (some sophomore) dorm when I was 18. Unlike "Scott," Rich was very good looking, at least I and a few other young ladies thought so. Rich was also a player of sorts who would be super nice to you when he needed something or a friend but if you needed him, he was "busy." Except in the case of my roommate but that's another story. I could imagine Scott having the mind frame (as many others have said--love your puffed out feathers comment, Oldhickory) of realizing he had a good thing going. I still would hope he wasn't always aware of that but Travis sure seemed to be, so who knows?

For years, I could never figure out what Ann was talking about re: Toby's sunglasses. She described them as "narrow black bands with slits from side to side to see through." I had never seen sunglasses like that anywhere when I was a kid. I finally realized just a few days ago that she meant these: tinyurl.com/aj9e788Shutter Shades! Mystery solved. I can't believe I didn't figure it out sooner.

Thanks for finding that Candykane. I admit to picturing the glasses has having a narrow opening on each side. Maybe I am missing what is "cool" about these actual frames but I'm glad Stacey and Toby apparently thought the shades were "in" and liked them.

I guess those sunglasses were popular in the 80s, but I never saw anyone wearing them, and I knew a lot of older kids then (my sister and her friends were all teenagers in the 80s).

I really luv this book so much. I still want to be able to say, "Sea City, Here I Come." :)Besides the usual loving reading about Sea City itself, especially in this the first book, I think this might be the first time Vanessa becomes a poet. On page 33, Vanessa announces, "We're back we're here, we've come once more, to our gingerbread house by the white seashore!" This poem even got Byron's seal of approval. Speaking of Byron, it really was a sweet scene when he and Stacey walked to "the bay side of Sea City," and Byron described Sea City as, "Just a little piece of land that curls into the ocean like a dog's tail." (Page 103--original cover) One Putt-Putt mystery: When Stacey and Mary Anne realize Claire and Margo are taking a very long time getting there balls into the hole, they decide to divide up into three groups. Mallory takes Adam, Byron, and Jordan. MA takes Nicky and Vanessa and Stacey takes Claire and Margo. Shouldn't Claire and Margo have been in different groups? I wish we had gotten to read about the others especially Nicky and Vanessa since the two of them don't often hang out together. In fact toward the end of the book MA takes Nicky, Byron, Mallory and Margo into town to jump on the trampolines and play mini golf. That leaves Stacey at the beach with Adam, Jordan, Vanessa, and Claire. I just think it would have been interesting reading about the Pike kids in somewhat different groupings. I will be reading about all of them tonight in my very favorite SS Baby-sitters' on Board.

This is one of my favorite books. I love reading about Sea City. I personally think this book is a lot better well-written than Mary Anne and Too Many Boys (I haven't read Sea City, Here We Come). I love Stacey and Mary Anne's interactions with the Pike children. I also like Mallory as one of the "kids" rather than the mini adult she later becomes. I really don't blame Stacey for thinking that Scott liked her. After all, he did seem to be hitting on her. I felt so bad for Stacey when she found Scott and some other girl kissing. I wanted to give her a hug and tell her everything would be all right. I didn't like how Stacey ignored the kids because of a boy. I felt sorry for Mary Anne since she had to do all the work practically. I could also sympathize with Stacey because it can be really hard to focus on things while you have a huge crush. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Stacey and Toby went out on their date. The Tunnel of Luv sounded so sweet and romantic. Another favorite part is when Stacey and Byron have their walk along the bay. Here were the rare moments where they truly showed Byron's sensitivity. Plus, it shows that it seems like Byron has a crush on Stacey.

^I wish Mallory had been a charge a little longer and that Jessi had waited a year to come to Stoneybrook. I think if either or both of those things had happened, we might have gotten to know Mal better and I'd hope Ann and Co would have given her some happier storylines/moments. Plus, I really always like reading about Mal and Vanessa (Mystery Diary) and think there might have been more scenes with the two eldest Pike sister had Mal been younger a little longer.
I think Stacey and Byron could have had a sweet friendship. I also like how in Baby-sitters on Board he assures her about Pirates of the Caribbean not being too jolt-y a ride.

One of my favorite parts of the book is when Stacey and Toby went out on their date. The Tunnel of Luv sounded so sweet and romantic. That's one of my favorite parts of the book. I don't think, I ever ride tunnel of love. Once, I get a boyfriend someday. Him and I, will be taking a Tunnel of love ride. I can ride on the boat. Since, goes so slow. My other favorite part of this book. Is the Burger Garden restaurant. The way, they describe it. It was like, I want go to that fictional restaurant. It remind me of Rainforest Cafe Restaurant. I used go to. It's not cheap place. Their food is on the spicy side. I don't eat spicy food.

^ So do I. I felt like, I was in the rain forest. So, I'm random reading chapters in this book. In Chapter 13. While Stacey & Mary Anne was getting ready for their double date. Stacey let Mary Anne to borrow the sparklingly yellow nail polish. Got me thinking, what the sparklingly yellow polish look like: Here's a sparklingly yellow nail polish: (Looks more like yellow gold.) I'm thinking of this yellow color. Here's the sparklingly pink nail polish, that I think, Stacey used: Some other different shades of sparklingly pink nail polishes: Lighter pink with more sparkles in it. This has the 80's nail polish look: Darker pink (Fuschia color.) Just reading the chapters about the boardwalk. Now, I have Under the boardwalk, pop in my head.

Since, I been random reading chapters in this book. I'll give my reviews for each chapters.
Chapter 3: (Quick review) Stacey and Mary Anne arrives at the Pike's house. They're getting ready to leave. They got on the road, travel to Sea City.
I notices, when Margo was getting car sick. Mallory said, they should switch seats. Mr. Pike told them, if they were going to trade places, do it carefully. When they were switching seats. Mallory, accidentally bump Mr. Pike's shoulder. While, he was still driving on the highway. You know, he's going so fast on the highway. That was danger thing for the kids to do. He should have pulled over on the highway. Let them quickly change seats or let Margo seat in the front seat to begin with. Since, she get car sick, so easily. This century. The kids will have to be in booster seat. Stacey will ride in the front. I read someone's post. Their saying a 13 year old should be in a booster seat. I ask them, what 13 year old, be in a booster seat? They didn't respond back. Can you imagine BSC members, be in a booster seat. They'll be horrid and embarrassed. If, anyone finds out, they're in a booster seat. They'll hide in their house. Mary Anne's dad, will make Mary Anne to be in booster seat.
Chapter 10: (Quick Review) Mr. & Mrs. Pike, let Stacey & Mary Anne go to the boardwalk on their own for 5 hours. So, Stacey & Mary Anne, our walking around on boardwalk. Go on the Ferris wheel. Then, they went shopping.
When, Stacey saw Scott kissing other woman. What did Stacey think, that Scott will go out with her? She's 13 years old. he's 18. (Who looks like, in his late 20's early 30's.) If, he was dating her. He'll be rocking the cradle. She'll have to wait until she was 18. Start dating Scott. Then, he'll be 23. Wouldn't matter.
That is all for now, more review chapters coming soon.
