Yep. I read it yesterday. Kristy and Mallory didn't go. I don't remember why, though...

Kristy's family had already planned a trip to Hawaii...and I think Mal's parents couldn't afford it?

Oh, yeah, that's right. Kristy DID go, just not through the school. Of course Mallory didn't go as Ann hates her...

I think Mallory had a good subplot in the super special that follows this book. She was the one with the bratty mother right?

OK book. It was nice that Jeff and Richard were getting along better (and interesting though weird that a lot of Jeff's sense of humor sounds like Richard's, a bit over-complicated). Dawn and the other club members seemed spoiled (I felt sorry for Sharon, although the trip isn't too long, and odd that Richard would quickly be in favor of it) but maybe by the end they realize more how much $250/$500 is. The book also emphasized how many members there were, for each sitter to get three jobs a week (doesn't sound like a lot when said that way) being 24 a week in total.
The BIT, at least Jeff, weren't too bad, mostly just eating too much of the club's and clients' candy and juices and of course not liking the meetings. Too bad Adam and Hailey couldn't have become friendlier with each other.

I think Mallory had a good subplot in the super special that follows this book. She was the one with the bratty mother right? You mean Margaret Wellfleet, who disapproved of her treatment of Jenny Prezzioso when she was throwing a tantrum? And then called the club phone and told Kristy to fire Mallory - then found herself in the same situation with her son and lost control? Yeah, I liked that subplot, too. It does seem weird that a mother of two wouldn't have run into this situation before, though.

The triplets and Jeff were way too immature to babysit. I mean they couldn't handle a dirty diaper. And having Adam baby sit Haley who was the same age was weird. And why on earth would Dawn go to Stoneybrook for the summer only to fly out to Hawaii ??

I read this again recently for the 'summer vibe'. Also, something random that just popped into my head: the past three Dawn books, since this one - 98, 88, 84 - were yellow covers!

Sorry this is a little off topic, but what if each girl had an assigned color for their books? Would you guys like that if all of Dawn's book were yellow, Kristy's red, Mallory's looking like a Lisa Frank poster, etc.?

But it leads me to the next question... what colour would each girl have? (Dawn already gets yellow haha)

Wow, interesting question about colors...Mary Anne dislikes pink, so I would never give her pink. For me... Kristy - Bright red because she's a go-getter and dynamite and bold. Claudia - Deep purple since she loves bright, unusual colors and has black hair. Mary Anne - Deep darkish blue since she has dark hair and eyes and is quiet, soft-spoken and compassionate and it's one of her favorite colors. Stacey - Metallic silvery turquoise since she loves bright and unusual colors also and is great at math and good with money. Dawn - Greenish-yellow brown since she's into the environment and loves the southwest desert sun. Abby - Maybe bright deep magenta since she's outgoing, funny and bubbly. Jessi - Indigo since she loves ballet and music. Mallory - Orange-gold since orange matches her hair and she loves a golden treasure trove of books and comes from a family who hit gold with a treasure trove of kids. ••••••••••••• Kristy:Claudia:Mary Anne:Stacey:Dawn:Abby:Jessi:Mallory:

Wow, well Mary Anne hates pink but navy and yellow are her favorite colors and Dawn I think said she never cared for yellow. So my guesses would be:
Kristy: Red Claudia: Purple Mary Anne: Yellow Stacey: Black Dawn: Ocean blue Mallory: Green Jessi: pale pink Abby: Orange Logan: white? Shannon: teal
