I remember I first read the graphic novel for this story, and I think they changed it so the first Prezzioso job was taken by Stacey instead of Mary Anne. Also, the club members seem a lot worse than they ever were before, but that's maybe just because they're fighting. But they're all really mad at each other because Kristy took a job for the Newtons without asking who was free. The thing is, Stacey did that in the last book because she was so excited about babysitting for Lucy for the first time, and Claudia told her off - but then Stacey apologized and Claudia admitted she'd broken the rule several times. Here, Claudia tells Kristy off after an apology, then Kristy points out that Claudia's broken the rule and things just escalate. There was no need for Stacey to get into the argument, and Mary Anne only got into it after Stacey called her a shy little baby. Also, I know Claudia got upset with Mary Anne over Mimi, but there was no need for her to turn the music up during the meeting so Mary Anne couldn't hear anything from the phone. Nor was it mature to refuse to listen to her saying anything. And how did Kristy and Mary Anne survive the job with the Pikes? At least Mary Anne tried to talk to Kristy and be mature about it. And then they nearly ruin Jamie's birthday party because of their fight!

It was so bitchy of Claudia to do that, but then it's such a Claudia thing to do. I thought this scene was hilarious as a kid for some unknown reason. Then again, it is kind of funny how it's like "DE-DOOOO. DE-DOP. IT'S LIFE AT THE TOP, THE TOP" etc etc in massive capitals, just to emphasize how loud the tape was. And the tone of the scene is kind of funny, I don't know. And yes, I did just dig out my book to find that. My life has reached a new low.

Umm. Love. It seems like Claudia usually gets the singing along to the radio scenes, lol.

I'd probably like de-dooo, de-dop. It's life at the top, top. Sadly.

I LOVE this book. It's definitely one of my favorites. I always feel bad for Mary Anne having to sit by herself at lunch. The BSC fight is probably my favorite ever. So hilarious. I loved this book too, I read it last weekend and I found the fight funny too. I remember as a kid I was reading it and got all upset because my favourite characters were fighting.

I retread this book again. This girls so funny, when they're in a fight. I remember doing those paint books, when I was a kid. Dip the brush in water, paint the book.
Wonder, what would happen, if Mary Anne took down Humpty Dumpty? Would her dad have a cow or something?

Wonder, what would happen, if Mary Anne took down Humpty Dumpty? Would her dad have a cow or something? That is actually a good question. Hmm. I'll say at first, he'll be shocked and disappointed, then he'll loosen up and agree with her. Or he'd have a cow plus a calf.

Anyway, MA Saves the Day is one of my all time favorite books. The girls truly and really act their age. A lot of twelve year olds are this silly and immature. Best BSC fight ever in the entire series! I felt bad for MA when she had to sit by herself during lunch. I liked the introduction of Dawn (interesting how in the beginning she wasn't exactly pretty but pleasant and the end she was gorgeous she made Stacey's jaw drop...). But I don't like the reasons MA befriended Dawn. You know, to get back at Kristy. That is understandable, I guess, but petty and mean of MA and unfair to Dawn. I can see why Dawn got mad when she found out MA had been lying to her. I liked the introduction of Jenny P.; believe it or not, I actually like her. She is funny and cute. Yes, she is bratty but she is FOUR and her mother spoils her to death so it's not really her fault. The emergency thing is touching, and It's hilarious how MA and Dawn were amazed over 10 dollars. Now, they'd earn probably between 30 and 50 bucks, if not more. And OMG the birthday party part is my absolute favorite! The girls were so immature and childish and seriously impossible to the point they'd almost ruined Jamie's b-day party. Also, I liked how MA finally stood up to her father and he finally loosened up, I noticed how their relationship was so tight and reserved. They were like unfamiliar guests at an important dinner meeting rather than father and daughter. I do love Richard a lot. He is an awesome dad. Oh, and I just love how snarky MA is. Like she gossips about the guy who carries a briefcase and follows the rules, observes Dawn's beauty, her thoughts on praying to her mom, the so called apology notes, the names she called them in chapter one, etc. I like the snarky, meaner MA. Lol. Overall, a terrific book!

Maybe I'm just naive, but I wonder if Mary Anne had sat her dad down at some point before this and tried to talk about it, if he would have listened. They paint Richard as so cold in the start of this book, but to me these books were written from the POV of a teenager, so of course they'll think that. I think Richard was a single dad that did everything he could.
I wonder if the other parents ever thought to step in and say something? Like Kristy's mom? Surely she noticed her daughter's best friend still dressing in those dresses and pig tails. I don't know. Just seems weird.

Just seems weird. On the cover, Mary Anne is practically wearing a micro-mini. I don't see how that's considered 'little girl clothes' or even appropriate for a 12-year-old.

On the original cover her skirt is practically a blanket.

Sadly, there are a lot of 12 year olds nowadays in clothes like MA in the new cover.

Ooh, and I forgot to mention that there's somehow a chapter 16. That really messes up my crazy organized brain and my OCDness on organization. :/

I'm sorry you're the biggest, bossiest know-it-all in the world, but what can I do about it? Have you considered seeking professional help? Tee hee hee.

MA sure had a mean side
