When Dawn leaves permanently, in Farewell, Dawn, Kristy looks positively THRILLED on the cover.

I would be thrilled, too, if I had to put up with Dawn all the time and then I found out she was leaving. Heck, I'd help her pack. I'd pay for her plane ticket.

hah I love the part where Howie comes to Stacey's garage sale and buys STACEY'S OLD RING to give to DORI. WTFFF. I would kick him in the balls.

I always thought their car was ugly and that ruined the cover, and thus the book, for me. I guess that's a pretty superficial thought for a grade-schooler, but it's the truth! It's sad I ignored all advice to the contrary and pretty much judged the books by their covers.

^ This made me wonder if the same car was on the cover of #13 and #28, so I took a look at both covers side-by-side, and it's obvious that Hodges bothered to make the vehicle look similar on both covers, but didn't bother to make it look exactly the same.

I did love the book though. It was sad when Claudia told her that she was her one and only best friend.

It's really odd that Claudia never had a best friend as the others always rave about how popular Claudia was. Claudia states that she always felt different and older than the other kids, but Stacey had several best friends when she was a kid. Contrary to what the BSC claimed, there are times when it seems like Claudia had some social problems... look at the way she completely shut herself off when she went to that other school for a while in Claudia's Book, she didn't even attempt to make friends at all, even though a lot of the kids probably had similar interests to her.

^ I would think that being popular would make it even harder to have a best friend you can really trust.

I don't know why they always said Claudia was soooo ~popular~ She never really seemed all that popular to me.

Probably because she wasn't allowed to socialise with any none-BSC members...

I dunno, doesn't everyone in the seventh grade vote for her to be their queen even though they hardly know her? Maybe she got to be pretty popular with them.
Oh wait - I think she just got a lot of votes because Josh talked her up...

^ She hung out with the "cool kids" with Stacey at the beginning of the series before they all started spending every waking moment together.
