I think the 7th graders just thought she was cool cause she was from 8th grade and was omg 13. As for the cool group she hung out with... well I never really understood that. I guess they were cool cause they were boys and girls? I just can't imagine everyone at SMS thinking Claudia is super cool... I don't know, maybe if I was 13 again I would

It's actually been awhile since I read this one and I plan to re-read it soon, but I do have some comments on the cover. Stacey absolutely CREEPS ME OUT on the cover of this. She looks absolutely psycho, like she's been drugged or something. And who is the chick in the red shirt supposed to be? When I was younger I always thought it was Kristy, but it can't be, because of the hair, and I don't think even Kristy was that short. So who is it? Charlotte? I didn't think Charlotte was with them at the end.

I always assumed it was Charlotte, but yeah she's not with them at the end...so I dont know...maybe the cover artist just threw her in there? This book always made me cry. I always loved the Stacey/Charlotte subplots for some reason...and I cry at the drop of a hat (ahem Mary Anne). I loved this book...and any other book that seemed to make me cry...ahhhhhhhhhhh

What was the name of the foreigners in this book that the Pike kids were so scared of?

I'm getting ready to reread this one soon and don't remember much about it. Is this the subplot where the Pikes are scared of the neighbors? For some reason, I totally don't remember that. Why were they so scared of them?

^ Yeah. I think they were scared the neighbors were going to eat them for dinner or something.

And then Mallory figured out what they were talking about, and everyone calmed down. This is one of my favorite plots in the series.

I'm rereading right now and the Cogdens are the people who lived in the house before the foreigners. The book hasn't mentioned the foreigners' actual names yet. The spy subplot is cute and sounds like a lot of fun. That might be one thing I missed out on doing by not having a lot (or any) siblings ;D As for the rest of the book, not much remarkable about it so far. I am laughing about the garage sale, though, and having to cram all of the stuff from a house into an apartment because it reminds me of something that is going on with us right now. Some friends are moving from a house to an apartment (the house was already smaller than their last house) and having a garage sale tomorrow. But they still had tons of stuff to store and are keeping it in empty stalls in our horse barn. When they were moving, they just kept bringing load after load and we now have 3 stalls full of STUFF. I laugh every night when I go out to ride my pony and walk past the stacks (what are you going to do with 2 cat carriers when you only have 1 cat??? ;D) This book keeps reminding me of this (and making me think that I'm so glad it's not me who is moving because I can't imagine what I would do with all of my stuff ;D)

Once again, I forgot something I learned from the BSC. The word "courgette." It's also used in the UK, I believe.
It does seem like a strange thing to make a main course out of, though.

Someone in the editorial department dropped the ball on this one. The title of the Judy Blume book Stacey has in her Kid-Kit for Charlotte is spelled Iggy's House when it should be Iggie's House.
I really liked the Pikes' Secret Agents game. I loved the triplets' bossiness, and the little missions and the color-coded badges sounded like so much fun. Ann M. Martin seemed to understand kids and how they behave more than her ghostwriters.

^ I totally tried playing this with my siblings and their friends. It works better in BSC land.
