The last-minute pizza Janine and Claudia tried to make sounded revolting. I kept picturing a hunk of dough covered with burned Kraft American singles. I was planning on pizza for dinner, and now I can't get that image out of my head! Haha, sorry!

Poor Claudia, she messes up inviting people to her circus-themed party in elementary school, then she messes up inviting people to her big party when her parents are out of town. She'll probably just give up on parties after this. I think the subplot in this one is high on my least favorite list, right up there with Jamie's bike riding in #53 Kristy for President (there is no freaking way my parents would have tolerated that kind of behavior in my sister and me when we were kids), but I actually did like the main plot of this one. I actually did think the party was handled realistically - normally it seems like the writers think unchaperoned kids getting into trouble means shoplifting or drinking at concerts, but this was just normal kids-being-loud-and-making-a-huge-mess trouble. I could see a lot of their behavior being done by my friends and me at that age, like starting a hockey game with a cookie or balancing pizza boxes on heads. Also, I'm really lame and thought Janine's activities of cooking together and watching National Geographic, or Claudia's idea of a cookie decorating contest, sound super fun and I'd gladly spend my Friday night doing them. I thought it was funny that Janine brought up whether Claudia knew what decorum was...what is it with the authors and that word?

Rereading this book again. I forgot about the fight. That Bill & Melody had. When, I was a kid, we only had1 tv in our house. It wasn't until mid 90's, my older sister & I, had our own tv in our bedroom. Then, our old tv, went to our parent's bedroom. While the new tv, went into our living room. My sister & I, we didn't argue much. We either watch the same show or one of us, did something else, while one of us, was watching a show.
The dinner scene was far fetched. Today's teenagers, wouldn't act like they did. They probably get kicked out of the restaurant. Any time, I read the restaurant scene. Rose Bud Cafe, sound like a fancy restaurant for the teenagers.

^I tried to find some images of real life places called exactly Rosebud Cafe, and the ones that I found seem to me to be cute little places that would fit Stoneybrook's version.

^Didn't realize it when I posted, but I think it's in the UK. There are still little cafes that look like that in the US though.

It looks like UK architecture so I'd definitely say England!

I was thinking about this book the other day. Trying to remember the dinner Janine made for Claudia. It sounded delicious lol. Spaghetti and salad, I think, with other stuff.

I always remember the CDs. Doesn't Stacey bring some over? Maybe I also remember the CDs because they're pictured on the cover too.

The one part I liked about it was we go to see Lynn.
I agree the party was a good idea in theory but super lame. I wouldn't have stuck around for it. I know the bsc can't have alcohol but it would've been interesting if someone brought it. Or drugs.

That'll be interesting. If, someone bought alcohol or drugs at the party. Will, someone tried it or tell that person, to get out of the house.
Claudia, needs to learn say no. If, she busy with her boyfriend. Tell her 7th grade friends, that' she'll go to the mall, next time. I know, she didn't want to hurt anyone feelings. Sometimes, have to put your foot down.
Unusual, for Peaches, to act like that. (Maybe it's because she has a daughter now.) she used to be the cool Aunt. She went from Cool Aunt to Serious Aunt.

I don't really get why people are so surprised by Peaches actions. Yeah, she always seemed like the cool aunt, but when has Claudia ever done anything bad around her? They snuck out that one time to get pizza but I think Peaches realized that was a mistake. Claudia and Janine threw a party, which their parents would never have approved of in the first place, people were breaking everything and overall, Claudia lied, which didn't make it look good. I'm sure being a mom and thinking about what she would do if Lynn did the same thing played a part, but I would've been more surprised if she had just been like "It's our little secret".
