^ Love the picture. Back in the day, I would have DIED to have a BSC book dedicated to me....even a Mallory book. Maybe not this particular Mallory book, though....

^ Hee hee hee, ditto. I'm a Mallory fan, so I would have been fine with any other Mallory book being dedicated to me. I'd be disappointed if this book were, though. As I mention every time this book is discussed, it's my least favourite BSC book ever.

I like this book because it focuses on writing but sometimes you just want to grab Mallory and shake her and tell her to stop listening to Hemingway.

I don't get why all of a sudden Mallory forgot about fiction. In previous books, she knew what it was and she, herself, wrote fictional stories. Also, I thought that it ridiculous of Mallory to accuse Henrietta of being a liar just because she didn't write books that are like her life.

I sent a second letter to Ann yesterday. I thanked her for first response (form letter and book). I went ahead and said something like the "Mallory Pike in me wanted to try one more time to get Henrietta Hayes (You--Ann), to answer a couple series questions." I just asked again about Myriah, Stacey's parents in jail, and a non BSC question about her book Inside Out. Only the second question might require a moment or two of research or thinking on her part. The other two questions (I think) are very basic. I just couldn't resist using this book for something positive. This is also one of my least favorite BSC books.

Thanks, Anzuhana. I'll let all of you know if she does. Has anyone else written her recently, btw?

^ When Ann was thinking about the series, she thought that Stacey would move to Stoneybrook because her parents were arrested for stealing or embezzlement. I'm not sure if everything I mentioned is right but you get the idea.

I remember not liking this book. I didn't like that the author conveniently lived in Stoneybrook and I remember Mallory being really whiney in this one.

^I had never heard of the rumor until this board. I am not a rumor or (worse) gossip fan but this one caught my attention in terms of the Series. I thought someone had mentioned seeing the Stacey's parents in jail in some sort of publication. Maybe it all was a joke.
I didn't like that either, U4me. I also did not care for the way Mal made fun of her siblings or the fact that neither of her parents bothered to meet Henrietta Hayes (until the end). For all they knew she could have been some pyscho.

No, I read it in an interview, too. I think if you look in the archives of the New York Times, it's in an article from the series' height of popularity.
