Yeah, I thought that was stupid too. And ITA about MA on the cover, and Logan on ski's, hehe.

The thing that bugged me with the Pike kids is that there were plenty of veggies in the freezer -- seriously, it would have been better than starving. And what's wrong with eating plain pasta with some olive oil? I thought all the kids loved spaghetti.

^ They did have veggies? I thought they were totally out of food but I might be wrong. I haven't reread this one for a while. Maybe I just assumed they were completely out of food, not just out of food they liked. I just started thinking, though, did they have electric? If not, frozen vegtables might have been hard to prepare. I guess they could have let them thaw out and eaten them but that would have been a last resort, I think. Yuck!

Yeah, they did have a bunch of frozen vegetables that they ignored in favor of the ice cream.

^ Yuck. I would have gone for the veggies ;D I'm weird and actually love vegtables and don't like ice cream. Did they have electric, though? Melted ice cream is gross and so is the thought of unheated, frozen vegtables.

Hmm...I think the next morning, the power came back on. They totally could have cooked up some veggies, because Jordan had a tv dinner and MA had oatmeal. (this was my favorite SS, so I remember a lot!)

I'm sure I would have to be pretty desperate before I would resort to the vegies. I can relate to the Pike kids.

Since I love the book where Karen loses her rat ( Karen's Mystery), I find that plot in Snowbound highly amusing. Especially since upon hearing the news Mary Anne is like, "Oh...remind not to visit your house until...the problem's cleared up." Haha, I remember this being in the book. I didn't much care for Karen's Mystery though. There were better Karen mysteries out there.

^ I didn't care much for Karen's Mystery either but any reference to "Emily the rat" makes me laugh. ;D This one is especially funny. I'll have to reread now that I've just read Karen's Mystery (hadn't read that the last time I read Snowbound)

I loved the Karen's Mystery reference in Snowbound, probably because it was my very first BSC-LS book ever. You can trace my BSC obsession back to that book! I kind of assumed that being out of food meant for the Pikes being out of food they liked. But someone (I'm sorry, I forget who) made an excellent point earlier on - why on earth didn't Mr./Mrs. Pike stock the fridge before they left? Yes, they were only supposed to be gone a night, I think, but still. But then, if they had, Logan wouldn't have shown up on skis to save the day, like the hero that he is! I love Mary Anne in the Bizzer sign picture, with her hand on her forehead and that hilarious expression on her face. Mary Anne, you are so dramatic!

^ That picture is great. I think MA looks really cute in all of these pictures - the Pike girls too. This also might be one of the best covers. I always prefered to think that the Pikes were really "out" of food. Makes it more dramatic and exicting, even if it is just the way I read and imagine it. ;D I guess that's the great thing about reading.

^I liked that picture too, because it helped me visualize the Bizzer sign.

I'm sure I would have to be pretty desperate before I would resort to the vegies. I can relate to the Pike kids. Me, too. And I don't think it's particularly unrealistic that a bunch of kids would prefer eating ice cream to eating vegetables!

^ I still prefer ice cream to veggies!
I really like this cover, too, aln! I always thought Mary Anne looked so pretty. I like all of the pictures in this one, actually. Except the one of the girls at the dance. Yikes.
