I’ve noticed that Charlotte seems to have a lot of “Kristy-like” ideas. She always seems to be the one who comes up with things like in Big Sleepover, Get Well Mallory and Secret Life of MA. Maybe they really should make her an honorary BSC member and “groom” her to take over as president someday. ;D

Charlotte plays a guitar in one of the books, but do they mention any other guitar playing of hers? i think it would be interesting if she got more into the guitar.
I am barely starting electric so thats why the guitar think struck me as Eeee!

I think Charlotte is a really nice kid. She's smart, but she doesn't brag about it. If she was real,I would like to sit for her whenever the Johanssens needed a sitter

^ I agree about Char not bragging. I like that about her. Also like that she has other interests and isn't portrayed as the stereotypically "smart" kid. Her relationship with Becca is also really nice to read about. ;D

I thought it was sweet how Charlotte was in need of a best friend and Becca moved at the right time to take that position. I think the first time they played together it was with bubbles...I can just imagine them playing around in the yard with them. I felt a little sorry for Charlotte, because while her parents loved her very much, they seemed VERY busy all the time.

^ I thought the same thing. I think that's where the lonliness came from more than her being an only child. I'm an only child but my parents have always spent tons of time with me and I've never been lonely.

Her shyness is probably another reason she was lonely, at least in the early books. When it's hard making friends, you tend to keep to yourself. It's safe, but lonely.

I noticed in Jessi’s Secret Language that it said Charlotte was 8 and skipped into 4th grade so was ahead of Becca. I thought, though, that Jessi’s Wish said she and Becca were both in 3rd. Did she go back a grade that we didn’t hear about? ;D

Charlotte's age and grade is something that changes a lot. It's frustrating.

There was one thing I often wondered about Charlotte. Both of her parents worked, however, there was nothing mentioned about her having a full-time sitter in the summers or over school breaks. Maybe the older sitter mentioned in The Truth about Stacey?

I think aln mentioned that engineers can often work from home.

^ I think a book said her dad did and I think some engineers can. Others, like my dad, really can't though. (He often has to go in weird places full of radiation or up on top of extremely tall and dangerous buildings to check on "his" equipment things. ;D)

I always liked Charlotte. I was kind of like her when I was a kid - quiet, liked to read, studious. I didn't get to skip a grade, but I started kindergarten at age 4 so I was always the youngest kid in my class like she was. But I wasn't clingy or overly dependent, the traits of hers that really bugged me. The books always say how Stacey helped to bring her out of her shell, but it's never really explained how that happened, or ever really shown. We're just supposed to believe that it happened. They're also described as being really close, almost like sisters, but that often isn't shown very well. I really like Mystery of Stoneybrook and Mystery Money where we really get to see the relationship between Stacey and Char, instead of just being fed the standard "almost-sisters" line.

^ I feel the same way. Was also like Char (including skipping the grade, only child, dad an engineer, liked to read, quiet until I got to know someone, studious, etc. ;D) but not clingy, which bothered me about her just like it did you. ;D I also really liked Stacey and her's relationship being shown in Mystery of Stoneybrook. I think Truth about Stacey talked some about it but can't remember what it said. I'll have to see when I reread.
