Was just wondering what Mr. Schafer does. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a lawyer, though maybe not since he isn't from Stoneybrook ;D

I just checked the Complete Guide and under Jack, they didn't list what his job is. Not sure if it's somewhere else in there I would've missed, though.

I think in ca girls it's lawyer, then in bsc in the usa he's dissing richard for working so much and says he's glad he can make his own hours. Whatever he does, I always got the impression he was pretty well-off. A full-time housekeeper, private schools, a nice house, disneyland daddy...

^ Agree that he was well off. That was my impression too and I assume that he was either a lawyer or did something with insurance since he's not a dr. These seem to be the only jobs anyone in the BSC has ;D (except librarian and a few engineers - Quint and Charlotte's dads)

Did Dawn and Jeff go to private school in California? I don't remember that.

^ Oh, okay. I've never read California Diaries, so I guess that's how I missed it.

^ Me too. I also didn't realize it was a private school and based on just the BSC books, always assumed it was public.

^ I always assumed it was public also, but now that I think about it, Vista does sound like a private school. I mean, or else it would have been something like Palo City Middle School or something.

I wasn't sure because isn't it called Vista High School? Most private schools are called academies.

I went to two private schools and they were just called "such and such school." Vista is never referred to as academy or high school or whatever, just vista. Anyway it is specifically mentioned in dawn diary 1.

I always loved how it was referred to just as Vista. That was intriguing to me for some reason.

I just started thinking that the occupations in the book are not only overused but also pretty stereotypical. Though there are a million lawyers, all of them are men while all of the doctors are women. The other women’s jobs are also pretty stereotypical feminine jobs – librarian, secretary, advertising, real-estate, etc. It seems like this for the main characters at least. Wondered if anyone else noticed this.

How many lawyers could Stoneybrook need anyway?
