Isn't Michael pronounced as Michelle in French? Hope Watson never springs for a trip to France or David Michael will be traumatized.

I think (and I'm not real sure) the French pronounciation of Michael is mee-shell emphases on the mee.

So glad to see I'm not the only one that mispronounces names. I kind of just come up with my own versions of how to say things when I read.

Reading this thread reminds me of all the names I used to mispronounce. I keep being reminded of them! I am glad I am not the only one.

as a kid, I always thought that Cokie was "Cookie", later I realised, though, that it didn't have that extra O. And now that I think about it... Cookie would be an odd name for a bully...

I always pronounced Byron's name as Brian, and Myriah as Myra. When I found out they were actually Byron and Myriah, well, it shook my BSC world.
I also used to pronounce Mary Anne's last name "Spy-er," but quickly learned the error of my ways. And for some reason, I used to pronounce Seth as "Steth." I have no idea why.

I think Myriah is ma-ri-ah. ....my friend had a dog named myriah. For teh longest time i ignored one of the syllables in papadakis...and pronounced it padakis....i use it as the a in chair....my friend Carrie pronounced it popuhdahkis. Shea, i pronounced Shee oh and for longest time I also pronounced Byron Brian Lol

I refuse to pronounce Spier as anything else but Spy-uh, hehe. Also Byron is Brian to me. When I was little I never pronounced names like Papadakis or Prezzioso, I just kinda read over them if you know what I mean.

^ I still just make my own alternate pronunciations for Papadakis and Prezzioso and don't even ask me to try to spell them on my own ;D
