I was just thinking about that the other day. The only girls named Claudia I've ever known (or heard about) in real life where from South America or Mexico and their names where pronounced "cloudy-uh".

^ Agree with not hearing Claudia's name very much except as someone from Latin America. ;D about Claudia getting confused about Spier. I kind of just read the names however I want them to sound. That's the beauty of reading ;D

I've heard someone from Latin American named Claudia too. It was pronounced "cloudy-ah," but that was just because of the accent, I believe.

I've known two Claudias, and both were South American, if I recall correctly. One Peruvian, one Venezuelan. (I hope I spelled that correctly...)
And I never thought about it before, but both of them were absolutely supermodel-gorgeous, like Claudia is always described in the books. Must be something about the name!

^ I guess it is "exotic sounding". Surprised Karen didn't use it in Karen's Haircut ;D

Interestingly, the only lady I know named Claudia is a librarian.

i still refuse to pronounce spier as "speer". they CANNOT SPRING THAT ON US LIKE, HALFWAY THROUGH THE SERIES. this isn't really a pronunciation error but i would always think of david michael as "david michelle" and was only like, "wait a minute..." when i was older. i would just stumble through "prezzioso" and never really bothered to figure out how it was said.

I always pronounced Byron as Brian- I just couldn't say it the right way for a long time.

I was fine with all of the pronunciations except for Mary Anne's last name and Byron Pike (whom I called Brian for most of the series). If you have the Baby-Sitters Club Friendship Kit computer game, you can find out most of the pronunciations there. One of the activities has a map of Stoneybrook, and it has the pronunciations of the last names. Random Shy Girl

When was it out? Where was it available?

^ I think that it came out sometime around 1996 or 1997, though don't quote me on that. I searched for the game on Google, and here is a link that has more information and screencaps on the game. I loved that game when I was younger. I actually tried to start it up again a few weeks ago, but my computer wouldn't run it, since it needs to be played on a Windows 95 or 98, and my computer is a Windows XP. I was sorely disappointed. I'll probably try and install it on one of my dad's old computers in the basement sometime. Random Shy Girl EDIT: Oops, I forgot to answer this question. As for where I got the game, I am not sure, since I got it as a birthday present. I'll ask my parents tomorrow, though; they might remember. I'll get back to you on that.
