I think I've tried them before, but didn't really like them. I prefer white chocolate-covered pretzels

Claudia makes raspberry brownies in Claudia and the Mystery at the Museum. I have never had raspberry brownies, but they sound like a very good idea.

I have a chocolate cherry cake in the oven at the moment, and keep thinking about Claudia and the Recipe for Danger and how they used Alma's chocolate cherry cake recipe. Hopefully it turns out as good as that one did xD

Gotta bump this thread...I have now had the pleasure of a Tootsie Roll and oddly, I really liked it! I have weird taste in food. I just had carrots and hummus for lunch and now I feel like Dawn And a slice of orange cake, but it was a flourless orange cake, so maybe it would pass the Dawn inspection?

It's threads like these that remind me I'm not a freak LOL sometimes I'll re-read certain BSC books over and over again, just for the food word parts alone. I've been doing that with the Pine Island section in Stacey book and the Ballroom Dance section for the candy and ice cream and getting so many lobster/seafood and blueberry cravings, as well as fish.
I was reading Mary Anne and the Great Romance too and feeling that when reading about the salad and birthday cake and chinese food. In fact so many of the books mentioning making salad does that to me, Karen's Plane Trip being another example with the radish flowers, and Claudia's "celebratory salad" for Janine, plus with the gardening in Nebraska
Another good example is Karen's Tea Party when it comes to the tea, cookies, brownies, pudding, rice, jam, you name it

I notice that in the Little Sister books, they often have salad with like... pizzas, hamburgers... virtually everything. And remember when Karen becomes the salad queen (and that's basically all she does) in Karen's Plane Trip?!

I admit I loved reading about that in Karen's Plane Trip, I wanted to eat the salad and see how it was made, Karen was so quick in adjusting to farm life.

And remember when Karen becomes the salad queen (and that's basically all she does) in Karen's Plane Trip?! I just read Claudia and Mean Janine and for some reason I noticed that one night they have hamburgers, French fries, and salad for dinner. Speaking of hamburgers, there are so many backyard barbecues in The Summer Before that when I read that book, I just want to go to a barbecue. Every time you turn around, somebody is grilling hamburgers.

^ Sometimes the Kishis have really cool dinners. Like their taco parties.

When I went to the US I bought home Twinkies, Ho-hos and Ding-dongs... But I didn't eat them and they have a short life! So I threw them out. I have to admit they did not look appetizing. But the twizzlers were yum!

Dawn's food choices, when they put detail into describing it, always sounded good. It's when they got lazy and made it "Tofu ______," it sounded gross heh. Anyone ever tried peanut butter and honey, which was Kristy's snack of choice when she was over at Dawn's? It sounds interesting, but really gooey. Karen's Valentine Breakfast in Karen's In Love sounded really cute. Cranberry juice, strawberries, were the pancakes dyed red, or were they just topped with red fruit? I don't remember lol. I think it might have been cranberry juice, milk with red food colouring, heart shaped pancakes and strawberries. I also loved that meal and scene and thought it was nice how they got presents

Was it cream cheese and jelly sandwiches that the sitters would make for the kids early in the series? I always wanted to try one.
