Was there an actual reason Mary Anne and Dawn disliked Trip aside from that he wasn't Mary Anne's father? Was his nickname Trip they thought him trying too hard to sound young and cool? I'm currently doing this for my blog and I don't think Mary Anne hears about Trip? Dawn and Jeff laugh about him when they hear his name and assume he's some weird, dorky guy but when they meet him, he's normal. But yes, Dawn doesn't care for him because she wants her mom dating Richard

Dawn and Jeff laugh about him when they hear his name and assume he's some weird, dorky guy but when they meet him, he's normal. But yes, Dawn doesn't care for him because she wants her mom dating Richard Re-read this one recently and yeah, Mary Anne doesn't hear about Trip. I really think this one is my favorite BSC book! For some reason I find it among the funniest in the series. Dawn is a dork in this, and it's so relatable. I still can't get over her waiting until people are in the passage with her to tell her it's haunted. OMG. I'm not sure I'd have explored the passage in a power outage. I know it would be dark no matter what, but yeah... idk about that! Hilarious when Dawn and Jeff were trying to block the passage door to keep the ghost out, then Sharon pointed out that ghosts can travel through walls. The sleepover is one of my favorite BSC moments and I'm not sure why. I'm still so jealous of Dawn on this book. Never lived anywhere with something like a secret passage. There was a crawl space under one of the old houses I lived in, but it's not as exciting, since that was so people could access pipes and stuff. Never explored it because I'd have to be on my hands and knees. Not nearly as fun lol.
