Why can't anyone in these books have a conversation before things get out of hand? Because that would leave the books completely without plot. ;D

^^^ Oh, but then the plot could be "OML* Peaches hates me, how can I mend our relationship!" I know, though. Not quite the same. *It's a Claudia book, so we have to have OML instead of OMG.

Claudia was overbearing to her Peaches. I felt bad for her and Russ when she wouldn’t leave them alone. I think it would have been better if Janine became the godmother of Lynn and if Lynn got Janine's middle name (that is, if Janine has a middle name). I liked the trip to Philadelphia. I found Melissa to be slightly annoying. I know the whole point of her was to make Claudia see what a cow she was to her Aunt Peaches, but Melissa was still annoying. I liked her better in Kristy and the Kidnapper.

I looked on Wikipedia and it said that The Thinker is a bronze and marble sculpture.

The original, yes, but I think the mention in the book is referring to the cast in Philadelphia

I just checked and it says that the casts are bronze.

I'm guessing that Lynn is a Taurus because this book is set in May. Also, Claudia comments on how patient Lynn is -- which is also a Taurus trait.
Taurus and Cancer (Claud's sign) are compatible signs, so I also find that interesting.

What's even weirder, in my experience/opinion, is that that the book says they gave her Pitocin to induce after she got to the hospital. I mean, maybe she was in labor all day before they leftl, but they call the BSC around six and the Kishis get home by 10:45. . .that seems REALLY fast for me, for a labor without complications. Should we add childbirth to the list of "things Ann knows nothing about"? When my now 13 month old was born last year I was given cervodil and pitocin for induction due to preeclampsia. I was admitted at 11 am on march 9th and they started induction at noon. My son was finally born by emergency c section at 6 pm March 10 because labor wasn't progressing. Rereading this book I think it was awfully fast for Peaches as a first time mom at least compared to mine

Is having a godmother for a baby just a catholic thing? I never had a godparent and was never asked to be one (I certainly don't blame anyone for that as I should never be responsible for a child!). I didn't know if this was just a typical thing or a religious thing.
I love when the girls leave stoneybrook. I guess it's because I love to travel and like hearing about what they visit etc. I must say I love that they snuck out for greasy cheeseburgers! My friend and I did that at band camp one time but we got caught and were in trouble!!!!
All in all this book was okay. I agree with a lot of people that they should have said something to Claudia, but then there would be no story so I guess they shouldn't have!

I don't know how it works in Protestantism because I have no real personal experience with it, but I'm Orthodox and have godparents and my siblings are Jewish and have them. For us, it has to with the Christening, and my godmother bought my Christening dress and held me before the Priest christened me, and my godfather was in charge of getting my cross (in Orthodoxy you're supposed to wear a cross under your shirt at all times). I think the roles in a Catholic christening are similar, and I know that there is a godfather-type role at a Jewish bris, but I think that in Protestant churches, if they do do it, it's about signifying a special relationship to the child or something. Do Protestant churches do christenings, or just baptisms later?
My mom has a friend who has had four kids and all four them were just like two hours or so of labor and then bam.

I loved seeing a lighter side of John Kishi when he and Claud raced to the drugstore for film. I wish the m and m scene prior to that had been a little longer. I get that Claud was probably in shock at hearing her Dad say he bought m and m's for Peaches to help keep her energy up. Wouldn't Claud try the same thing? Yes, I know her parents would probably say "when you have a kid, we'll get you m and m's" but still, it could have been a classic moment that we've been waiting for. (Claud catching her dad saying something good about junk food). I guess both her parents were okay with Claud helping herself to the many cartons of ice cream in Russ and Peaches' freezer.
I think if Lynn was named after Claudia (I was disappointed her name was not Mimi--Lynn Bendedict just doesn't flow right, to me anyway) than Janine should have at least been asked to be godmother.

I was thinking that too Zoar. Just so be a little bit fair - one got the name another got the title.

^Exactly but also so it wouldn't be as mean and ignoring of Janine. I would have also liked seeing her spend time with Lynn instead of 100% Claudia. But then neither of their parents (or anyone else as far as we know) ever visited so why should Janine?
