Okay so I consider myself not scare-able, but this freaked me out. I don't like the thought of people staring at houses and omg the note on Tigger scared me. All I could think of is the guy snapping Tiggers neck and leaving a dead cat.
I thought it was really dumb in the end how Mrs. Tate finds them in her house and confesses her son is a big freak and out to get them. Really lady? Now you feel guilty when it might already be too late, pretty sure that makes you an accessory (or however you spell it).
I too like many on here thought the Logan/MA not thing was dumb. I would have enjoyed it if it was Logan actually telling her to stop crying, because really MA please stop crying!
This book made me want to try skiing, except no way in hell would I go on a ski lift. I guess that means I can only do the bunny slope? That by far was the creepiest thing to me. Stacey stuck on the ski lift in a blizzard with no way down FREAKY!!!

^This book and Winter Vacation always make me want to try skiing, but after watching the movie "Frozen," umm not so sure. (It's about three people getting stuck on a ski lift at night, and...bad things happen )

I actually liked the mystery books even though a lot of them were ridiculous looking back on them now I remember being excited to see super special mysteries, I only had the first 2. I think this is definitely the scariest one, and though I never read the last mystery I know they decide not to investigate things any more because it was too dangerous. But I would think they were in way more danger in this book. Also liked when Shannon got chapters, really would have liked to seen more from her though.

I just waded through parts of this one. I think this is truly where the books dive into the realm of no return. Sure, are still a few "good ones," along with more "good moments," but the BSC as a whole had changed forever at this point. I may be in the minority but am not a scary movie fan so even that angle did nothing for me. I think this may have been (aside from Cat Burglar) the worst instance of most all the girls, especially Kristy, "not wanting to bother a parent," and therefore not telling an adult something they should have. Lighter note, I liked reading about the Rodowsky boys making "Edible Slammers" (Cookies) and even the Pike kids doing something outside of their house. Mal's "blue pizza" order was awesome! Maybe with the new Smurf movie, pizza places should offer such a thing!

I think I may agree with you zoar. I must say that I now dread what I will find in this portion of my reread as I have read very few of these older ones and they just seem to not be as well written. The characters seem to be just the chapter 2's walking around trying to find something to do and most of the subplots were terrible!!!!

A long time ago we had this discussion (cut-off point in series) to which I just dug up and posted to: babysittersclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=generalseriesdiscussion&action=display&thread=3343 Are you reading these older books for the first time Wiggirl? If so, I hope I haven't "ruined" them for you. I think its safe to say I am "slightly" a fan of the BSC. Just a little, right? Just as you said by this portion of the series the writing is plain bad and the characters of old are not what they once were at all. This re-read I made myself go forward whereas last time as soon I got to "Dirty Diapers," I headed for the hills of "KGI."

I did a reread a couple of years ago and it was the first time I had ready a lot of these so this is my second time. I remember at least when it was my first time I had hope that a book would good.

Aw, same here. I also confess to sometimes hoping that the book would be struck my magic or something and be better that re-read around than the last time. Sadly that doesn't work!

These are AMAZING! I loved seeing Claudia and Stacey in photos, and I think you did a really good job of modernizing them up!

In your head do you guys picture the Brewer's cabin as the same one in Shadow Lake? In this book I end up picturing Shadow Lake as more of a Ski Resort.

You're right! I never saw that before.
One of the funniest parts in this book is when Mallory and Jessi take the kids out to look for the man with the blue tattoo on his face and they end up freaking a few people out from starring to much. I don't know why Mallory didn't specify the tattoo was on the earlobe in the first place though. If somebody told me a tattoo was on a person's face, I wouldn't be looking at their earlobes.
