Actually, Jon and Kate did bring extra helpers. I think you would have to when you have a bunch of 3 year olds and two 6 or 7 year olds. Kate freaked out when someone gave them ice cream and one of them spilled on themselves. It was amusing. Lol, I just saw that episode on Memorial Day ;D. One of the kids spilled ice cream all over their shirt and Kate just flipped out saying, "It's over, it's over! They don't have any extra clothes and it's hot and sticky and blah blah blah," ;D

Just to clarify...I don't want this next comment to be taken the wrong way... Since they go on and on about Jessi being black (OMG who knew)...I thought it was a bit tacky that that th candy store in Jessi's chapter was called Kotton Kandy Korner. it most definately could have been spelled the proper way and still had the same first letters. I dunno that just really bothered me I never even noticed that either! Wow

I wonder if Ann (or the ghostwriter) even noticed that the initials were KKK. Do you think it's just a coincidence?

I think it's a coincidence, I would hope they wouldn't purposely do that.

I'm guessing it's a coincidence, too.

I would hope it's a coincidence, but you can never be sure. In this book, I thought it was strange that everyone seemed really calm for a hurricane to be coming. Byron was the only one who seemed somewhat scared by it.

Why can't I stop laughing at this? I guess I'm either a horrible person or just in some kind of giggly mood, because I just reread part of this and laughed out loud at parts, most notably the illustration of Mallory giving Toby the eye while wearing those sexy knee-length denim shorts, the Krushers losing by 33 runs and scoring their only run on a play involving Charlie Thomas hiding the ball, and the mental image of a horse-drawn carriage clip-clopping down the New Jersey Turnpike (I know that isn't what Logan planned, but for some reason that's how I interpreted it at first).
Speaking of Mallory, I was rereading this thread and it looks like I'm the only one who thought she was in the wrong for agreeing to go on a date with Toby in the first place. You don't touch your friends' exes!!! Although I guess you have to make a special case for Stacey's friends, since, well, you know.

^Yeah, I thought that was odd too. Why would Toby want to date someone so much younger than him anway? At their ages, an age difference like that is pretty big.

A 15 year old isn't going to notice that an eleven year old exists, and better not want to date her!

Yes their are some weird ones out there. I thought it was wrong that Mallory went out with Stacey's ex too. I was in a similar situation in high school.

for me, it would depend on the ex, how recent it was, how serious it was, how bad the breakup was...

^ I agree; I think there's situations where it's okay. I mean, if you date someone for a week in middle school, and your friend runs into that person 15 years later and there's a connection, I don't think it should be a problem.

Here's a "hypothetical situation" for you to peruse.
Let's say that you dated a guy when you were a freshman in high school. You guys walked home from the bus stop together and talked and laughed and said you were going out and such. this lasted for a couple of months or whatever. Then a few years later you find out that he is seriously dating your best friend from grade school. You guys aren't really close or anything anymore. Then a couple of years later you see him in a bar and he tells you he is single and such and you go home together and catch up. (No sex, just some kissing and laughing at your 14 year old awkward selves). Come to find out that he actually had gotten your former bff pregnant and now she's mad at you even though you don't see each other more then once or twice a year.
And they are getting married.
Oh, and I think it depends on the friend and situation.
I don't think Mallory should have gone out with Toby though because he's way older, not because he used to like Stacey.
