Isn't Sea City based after a place that Ann used visit growing? I think so. Ann grew up in New Jersey...a true northerner like the BSC and me.

This is the first time I've noticed that the ghost writer of this one got Franklins last name wrong. It's Dewitt not Harris and it's def the same Franklin Mrs Barrett has been seeing. His kids are in it.
Why on earth would Mal be writing to Mrs McGill? Sure they're neighbours but they aren't close.

I just read this one and wasn't a big fan. For some reason I really liked the blind candy test in the beginning, though. I also really liked the interaction between Kristy and Claudia (their differences in packing was great), then Stacey and Dawn. Do we see Claudia's summer school friends ever again?
This one felt... disjointed overall? I just wish the whole book took place in Sea City, much like other posters. Summer camp was boring, Krushers/ Bashers game was lame, and, like others, I really felt the plot with Stacey and Mrs. Barrett was underdeveloped. Maybe if more time was spent on that, it would've made sense for her to be her bridesmaid in #12. The Harris inconsistency bugs me as well.
Ugh, Toby and Mallory. What were they thinking with that plot? It was so weird that Mallory just remembered Ben all the sudden and called him her "steady boyfriend." Then again, the fight between Mallory and Stacey was entertaining. Also, I didn't notice anyone comment this, but the last chapter can be read as if the hurricane never happened. That bugs me.
Since they were essentially stuck on an island, Claudia and Dawn should've referenced Island Adventure. Hurricane Bill was my favorite part, but I wish more time was spent on it.
All throughout I couldn't help but wonder WHY everyone in the BSC (minus Shannon) went on this trip. It's kind of... random. It's weird that they went on all those other trips together, but in this one it feels like it isn't explained. At least in the others, they're all pitching in by baby-sitting. Both houses seemed like they'd be really crowded. Maybe I missed something. It was especially weird that Logan went.
Jessi's super sitter thing was underdeveloped. She did make breakfast every day so... Yay? I thought she got up really early every day to practice ballet anyway.
Mallory's super random postcard to Mrs. McGill cracked me up. I don't know why. It's just so out of left field.
Overall, not my favorite. Has some nice moments though.

I actually prefer "Boy Crazy Stacey" and "Mary Anne and too Many Boys" to this Super Special set in Sea City. I really dislike the random first week that's not being set in Sea City. If you're going to set a SS in Sea City, set it in Sea City! Anyway, here is my review: thebookshelfofsara.blogspot.com/2021/05/summer-in-sea-city.html
