I loved this book; I have a soft spot for reading flashbacks (I also love watching TV shows where they reminisce about past times). Stacey's chapter was my favorite in this book. I felt so bad for her when she was getting diabetes and her peeing on Laine's bed during the sleepover, causing that b*tch Allison Ritz to tell the story to everyone at school and have everyone call her a hypochondriac because she was missing so much school. Some friends Stacey had; they were real bitches, I couldn't believe she went back to them (especially Laine, well until Stacey's Ex-Best Friend that is). Their clique kind of reminds me of "The Plastics" in Mean Girls with Laine as Regina George. I liked Claud's chapter too, yay Mimi for yelling at Claud's art teacher all because she drew a butterfly. I liked how she told the teacher that that was how Claudia saw herself as a free spirit like a butterfly, so deep . I kind of liked Shannon's chapter but only the part about that new girl stealing her and her friends one by one. The astronomy part was lame. MA's chapter was cute because they were all little in that one . Dawn's chapter was soo sad and it literally made me sick to my stomach when Jack didn't come home and soon after came the divorce . Logan, Jessi, Mal, and Kristy's chapters were really boring, so I won't comment on those.

I'll never forget that chapter. It's so horribly realistic and a disturbing portrayal of girls that age. They weren't mini-adults who were mature and sensitive like most tweens in BSC-Land. These were the real deal - conniving, bitchy and cruel. Poor Stacey.

"that new girl stealing her and her friends one by one" hehe that sounds kind of scary I thought it was funny that Sally took one of Shannon's friends to a concert by a "real" musician (Bruce Springsteen) and that it wasn't made up like U4Me or Blade. I guess because Sally was so omg worldly and connected (because wasn't her mother "some kind of movie star")?

Totally agree, macca and sweetvalleygirl, about the girls being horrible to Stacey. That is one of my favorite things about this book (even though it makes me feel terrible for her and makes me really mad) because of how realistic it is and I can relate to friends turning on you like that. It's also the thing that I can't forgive Laine for (and the general snobby "vibe" I get from her).

^ Glad to know I'm not alone. I really need to reread this book as I think I actually liked it more than I remember. I have to wait until after Halloween, though, as I have too many Halloween books to read right now. ;D

^ I definitely read according to "mood." ;D For some reason, this one always seems like a winter one to me. Maybe because it takes place at a sleepover (night time, darkness, who knows? ;D)

I love Laine! I think she's one of the most realistic characters in the series. I like her snobbiness, I have no clue why.
