^Really? I don't remember that at all. Was this before the others came back or after? Awesome if she did though, especially if Mal took the job and just maybe Wellfleet was civil to her.

I think it was in her letter to Jessi. Maybe she was just making a joke?

^Good memory. At the very end of the book Mal, wrote a letterasking Jessi if she (J) could baby-sit for Mal on Saturday. Mal doesn't say why she needs J to do so just that she'll tell J all about the new (Wellfleet) family at the next meeting. I wish we had gotten to see that. And, of course, Jessi's job.

Too bad Mrs. Wellfleet never was heard from again. It actually would have been interesting had she run into Mrs. P and told her all about Mal and the BSC. I'd have enjoyed hearing Mrs. P stand up to her. I like to think she would have anyway. even though mrs p is said to be really high strung and high maintenance, she is one of the few parents who ever stuck her neck out for the bsc, and i absolutely love her for that.

^Aw, well said, me, too. I think a big part of the problem was that Jenny only was 3/4. Maybe Mrs. P had always imagined having a little girl to dress up and truly never thought Jenny wouldn't adore being her "angel." My own grandma always wished I was more into hairstyles and clothes as a kid. I wonder if we had seen more of Mr. P (like we did in #5) if he would have ever recognized Jenny's need to just be a little kid and play. I have always wished we had gotten to read the scene where he took her to play kickball in MA and Miss Priss.

Yes, she did...it was the same thing in M#1, wasn't it? I think she was the the parent who came back from a party early because the Gardellas had been there, bashing the BSC. High maintenance doesn't have to equal disloyal.

^That was her, Starrynight. She also made her opinion of the BSC clear to Mrs. Gardella. Wasn't she also an unofficial parent around in case anyone needed her during "Camp BSC?" I don't even think Jenny attended which made it stranger but nicer, too.

^ She was also first on the scene when Mary Anne's house burned down, I think. Mrs. P rocked!

^ Just as Mrs. P cared a lot about Jenny's health and well-being, I can also see her putting that into other people's. I can see her being a truly kind hearted person, maybe just a bit misguided with how she delivers it sometimes.

I thought Mrs. P was first on the scene of the fire because she wanted to make sure it wasn't headed towards her house next.

^ LOL! Also, the fact that she's the closest neighbour to them could have meant something. Cause, you know... she'd be the most geographically close and all.

Of course she'd be concerned about her own house and kids, but I like to think there was some neighborly concern in there as well!

I'm not quite sure what point was supposed to be made by the issues when Mrs. Wellfleet dealt with the tanturm.

I guess it was to teach her some humility since she didn't act respectful when she called the BSC to talk about how Mallory handled Jenny's tantrum.

From the mommy persepctive I have now, I wouldn't relish an 11 year old giving me advice or the look Mal gave her!
