i am watching the parent trap (the one with lindsey lohan), and i keep noticing both hallie and annie have the same freckle, right on the lip. i know it's because the same actress is playing both of them, but it got me thinking about the arnold twins. is it really possible for twins to have the same freckles? (i always call them freckles because thinking about moles on the face is so gross.)
in general, i MUCH prefer marilyn to carolyn. i think it's because MA and the great romance is on of the books i've had my whole life, so i have always thought of marilyn as being the lonely one and carolyn was the snotty one. i hated that they were such extremes. i can see a lot of myself in both girls, and most of the twins i know are a lot alike.

I read MA and The Great Romance before I read Mal and the Trouble with Twins, so I used to really like them, but then I grew sort of out of love with them. I still like them, but I do think the story line is a little cliched in the Trouble with Twins. But I guess it's good that there are books and things that tell about how twins are not duplicates, but individuals who look alike.
I was reading MA's Makeover recently, and all the stuff about Carolyn's "time machine" was pretty funny...

I've always really liked the Arnold twins, because their major plots dealt with MAKEOVERS!! INTERIOR DECORATING!!! BOYS!!! I liked Carolyn because she was ~trendy.~

I liked the makeovers and new rooms story lines but I can never remember who is who. I blame the stupid rhyming names.

I read Great Romance before Trouble with Twins too, and Twins made me like them less. I'm not into that book and find it kind of boring--even the mall trip and ear piercings

Ooh, good one! Was Carolyn the one who ditched her twin for her new cooler friends? Brat.

I felt bad for them in Mallory and the Trouble With Twins in that everyone was treating them like they were one person and how Mrs. Arnold was dressing them the same. Otherwise, I did like reading about them.

I like the subplot where the Arnold twins get their own rooms. I liked hearing about the cat themed room and the other room (although I don't exactly remember what it looked like). Was it in Maid Mary Anne? Maybe I am thinking of that one because the Arnold twins are in the book -- isn't Mary Anne with them on the cover?

^That subplot was from Mary Anne and the Great Romance. But they were on the cover of Maid Mary Anne, making a mess on the soapy floor. I loved that whole subplot. I loved reading about their new rooms and it always made me wish that my mom would let me completely make over my own bedroom. The most I ever got to do was repaint the walls.

^One Christmas I begged my mom for a new comforter because I wanted a new look to my room. I was like 10. What kind of kid asks for a blanket for Christmas, I don't know.
I used to think the cat themed room sounded awesome. Realistically, when Marilyn turned 13 she would probably have a Mary Anne/Humpty Dumpty moment and want another room makeover.
I'm still trying to get these girls straight. Is this correct? Marilyn = piano. Carolyn = science. Carolyn = had lots of friends. Marilyn = ...liked cats? Lol, I love how the lonely cat lady stereotype started early.

Nope, Carolyn had cats. Marilyn's was yellow and "grown up."

I remember one of their rooms was really small (once a sewing room or something). And it always reminded me of my own room growing up because it was teeny tiny, too.

Nope, Carolyn had cats. Marilyn's was yellow and "grown up." Darn it. I thought I had found Mallory Jr. Although maybe I still did if Marilyn had no friends and wanted to be sophisticated.
