Mostly looks. Her personality was too nagging in Karen's Stepmother, even though Karen wasn't doing her chores.

I love that book! Karen does so many things that are obnoxious on paper (making Andrew cry, rejecting Kristy's attempt to make her feel better), but she's written in a way that makes it easy to sympathize with her.

^ I can totally sympathize with her and read the book every time I have a bad day ;D Glad Elizabeth was so understanding because I know what it's like to have one of those days, too (have been having a lot of them lately.... ;D)

I came across this cover in the dibbly fresh gallery and it fits my image of Elizabeth, actually. I haven't read the book though.

^ That's how I picture Elizabeth, too. Not my favorite Karen book but I do feel for her in it. I feel for Elizabeth, too, but that's stepfamilies for you.....

I pictured her hair darker. I like the way she looks in the movie.

^I also pictured her hair darker, greer. I also really like her. She seems as involved with her kids as any of the other parents of the members to me. The books just don't revolve around their families so we don't always see their interactions. I think she did a really good job of raising her four kids pretty much by herself. Charlie is a caring person, Sam is really smart and funny, Kristy is organized and a leader, and David Michael is a sweet little boy. I think they are all well balanced children thanks to her.

The actress who played Elizabeth in Christmas episode of the TV show (can't remember if she was in any other episodes) is exactly how I picture Elizabeth. I remember seeing Movie Elizabeth for the first time and thinking "What? No!".

Did the books ever describe Elizabeth's appearance? I don't remember an description but maybe I just missed it.

Sorry, I hope this isn't completely off topic from what you guys were saying before, but I didn't read all the posts before this. So I don't know if you guys talked about this in this board, but how do you feel she was toward Karen and Andrew? I always felt, from the LS books, that Karen got along pretty good with her. It's been a while since I've read an LS book, but I remember in one, about how Elizabeth was fixing Moosie (I think it was Moosie at the big house, right?) and she was pretending that he was in the hospital and getting better. I really liked that scene of Karen and Elizabeth.

^ I thought that scene was really sweet, too. Also love their interaction in Karen’s Worst Day and many other LS books. I don’t care much for Elizabeth in the BSC books but like her a lot in the LS books. Kind of like my feelings on Nannie. Of course, my feelings on Kristy and Andrew are the opposite. I think it’s the perspective of the book and the story that gives me the impressions.

I remember seeing Movie Elizabeth for the first time and thinking "What? No!". Yes, I had the same reaction on seeing Movie Elizabeth, and Movie Watson for that matter. I've never seen Elizabeth in the tv series. Was Watson in any of the tv episodes?

^ I've only watched about 3 of the videos (are those the same as the TV episodes - like Dawn Saves the Trees?) but actually don't remember seeing any of the parents. I'll have to watch the movie, now. I'm curious.
