My friend and I just saw it in the theater...cute film! Despite being an adult I am extremely excited to see this movie! Unfortunately kids are famous for their affinity for toilet humor so I think they definitely chose the title of this book for that haha

I haven't read this book, but this Davis guy sounds like one gross individual.

In the right context, toilet humor can be great...I have to read this one. π

I don't remember being annoyed by Abby when I first read this. Like it felt Kristy had met her match because another athletic loudmouth moved to the neighborhood LOL. But I definitely hoped they would become friends!
The Drusilla subplot was boring but like I said before, Drusilla won me over in the Little Sister book when she convinced Karen she was a witch.

I don't remember being annoyed by Abby when I first read this. Like it felt Kristy had met her match because another athletic loudmouth moved to the neighborhood, LOL. But I definitely hoped they would become friends! And they did. I was so glad to have Abby in there because 1990s teen girl books desperately needed female athletes. It was tiresome to read about girls being limited to cheerleading and to watching from the sidelines the boys play sports. I'm so glad the BSC series...unlike the Sweet Valley and Fabulous Five series...didn't fall into that trap. The Druscilla subplot was boring but like I said before, Druscilla won me over in the Little Sister book when she convinced Karen she was a witch. Me too! I actually re-read Karen's Little Witch recently and I like Druscilla also. In my fanfic timeline, I have Druscilla as a tea-maker today and living in a Green Bay, Wisconsin near Lake Michigan not too far from Karen, who I have living in Chicago. Druscilla has one son, Solomon...who also has jet-black hair...and is not married, although her son sees his dad regularly. Below is what I imagine Druscilla looking like today in 2021...

Didn't like Kristy at all in this book. She was clearly jealous of Abby. I quite liked Abby -at the start until the ghost writer started writing her books and made her annoying.
Why didt Kirsty consult her team on getting sponsored? They'll be the ones wearing the stupid looking uniforms or kids opinions don't matter? Judging by David Michael's reaction I'm right.
Kristy was awfully mean throughout the book.
It was written by ghostwriter Peter L. It makes sense why this book felt off to me. I hate ghostwriters.

I really like Kristy's outfit on the cover. It is a tad bit OOC (a little too... dressed up or something), but it looks good.
I avoided this book for years because I was put off by the title. I still think it should be different. Idk what else they'd call it, though... Kristy's Dilemma? Kind of boring, but accurate for both the Krushers plot and finding a new club member. Can anyone think of a better name (I think mine is too bland and the original title is off-putting)?
This one is alright. It's kind of... is it too mean to say stupid? Lol. I just cannot believe that Kristy didn't consult her team before the uniform change. Or that she didn't ask Mr. Davis for details on what the sponsorship would entail. It's actually very OOC in my opinion. I do think that Peter L's Kristy comes across as a little dense, though, and we know Kristy isn't dense. Maybe it's just an honest mistake a 13 year old would make? If I was a Krusher, I'd have reacted the same way that Linny or Buddy did.
The Dru plot kind of dragged for me. I just didn't care and I hated how she acted at the Krushers practice. Making Jamie cry was just messed up. Then she had to bad mouth Kristy to Stacey later (I agree with Kristy that Stacey should've said something). I guess I'm glad that she randomly formed a band though?
I like Abby. Yes she comes on too strong, but I think she challenges Kristy and that's cool. Also, idk why people say she's a carbon copy of Kristy. They do have a lot in common, but they just read different. Abby's personality actually stands out as the most unique to me at this point in the series. I can see why many people find her obnoxious, but I don't, and I guess I think it's because I can kind of relate. I feel like I can joke around too much, especially at work (and ESPECIALLY when I'm nervous) and don't know when to stop. I do think Peter L wrote her a bit OTT in this book because it's from Kristy's perspective and is supposed to drive home the point that she challenges Kristy. Or something. Idk if I'm making any sense at all.
(Warning: rant ahead) I like Anna as well. In a way, I'm glad she didn't join though. I do wish she could've been an associate, but I think it's fine that she didn't join. She's very committed to the violin and knew the BSC would take time away from that. Nothing wrong with that. I'm a little miffed at Kristy's reaction, though. "I donβt think any of us had expected that response. I know I hadnβt. I guess I figured no one would turn down such an offer." Really? The BSC is a huge commitment and many 13 year olds would either have other priorities like school activities or want some free time. It annoys me that in a later book (not sure which one, it was either a Super Special or Super Mystery, because I read all those last year and remember coming across it) Kristy says in narration that it "always rubbed her the wrong way that Anna didn't join." Kristy is so full of herself sometimes. Yes the BSC is a good idea. But it's not for everyone. Hell, Logan had to miss a practice to cover a baby-sitting job in this book. Many, many kids would find that kind of thing unacceptable (I think the coach would too, correct me if I'm wrong). It's not for everyone and Kristy doesn't seem to understand that for some reason. Maybe I'm thinking too much about this... it's possible that Kristy liked Anna more and was just hurt that she didn't join.
I do like Kristy and Abby's interactions and how Kristy is basically blindsided by Abby. I remember them growing closer in Everything Changes and my head canon is that they become close in high school, possibly even best friends. I might be way off, maybe they clash too much, but I just like the idea.
